Darn, I missed the Mavin's completely, there were a couple of lots I had my eye on!!

Good catch on the solids there!! I assume these are from Mavin's auction!

No, they are not from Mavin.

OK! I just assumed as I also saw the MAS issues as your recent purchase! Maybe that is not from Mavin's either!!

Didn't mean to digress from the fact that these are great notes!

BTW, I do believe I have seen you and a few others here post on r.c.p-m in the past. Certainly I recall an exchange where I mentioned the common availability of Indian solid banknotes!!

Is alright. I believe all of us here accumulate our collection through various sources from ebay, public auctions, local and world dealers, fellow collectors etc.

Maybe you can enlighten us on the subject "common availability of Indian solid banknotes". I probably have forgotten what have been mentioned previously. :ninja:

I got these notes in today. I have no idea abou the date on teh Chinese note - it seems to be unlisted, and there's not much information on it - no serial numbers, etc. Maybe it's local Currency?

THe Paraguay note has been on my list for a while and I finally just got it.

My guess on the Chinese note is that it is late 19th century or very early 20th century. I like it because unlike so much of what came from China during that time it is really Chinese and not something printed by and or for a western bank operating in China.

Both notes are great. The Chinese one is unusually gorgeous compared to what I usually think of/see in Chinese notes. The design reminds me more of Japan, though.

One the Chinese 1000 cash note there, the ribbon on the eagle reads Chefoo China - so I would say almost certainly a local issue of a smaller community bank (that was locally of sufficient importance)

Just picked up this set of New Zealand notes from 1992, they have matching serial numbers.

amazing that you found them. are they uncirculated or circulated?

Sorry MMMM. I didn't notice your question earlier. They are in perfect original uncirculated condition. No counting marks etc.
