  1. From what I've heard, unless Carter died last year, they would cease the program with Nixon, so that will be the end, no Reagan dollar.
  2. They have never been legal for anyone that wasn't a Federal Reserve Bank to own, starting with the fact that they are all gold certificated issued after it was illegal for all US citizens to own more than $100 in gold certificates! These sorts of things come up all the time in other countries but the story is always the same, they are always fakes.
  3. Here are three that I got from the last Lyn Knight auction:
  4. Good luck, and I tried to look at your coins, but there is no way I am signing up for Pinterest and they don't seem to want to let you view photos unless you sign in. That 29 SLQ looks terrific from what I could see though!
  5. I enjoy Where's George, it's a fun little item to satisfy my obsessive compulsive tendencies!
  6. I have some extra proofs that I don't need after breaking up a set, PM or e-mail me if you're interested. 2013-S Presidential Dollar Set - $16 (mint price is $18.95) 2013-S ATB Proof Clad Quarter Set - $12 (Mint Price is $14.95) 2013-S Clad Proof Kennedy Half Dollar - $6 All prices include shipping to the USA, interesting trades considered!
  7. Thanks! I finally found a $20 Legal Tender that was in my price range, so given I needed to spend my tax refund somewhere I figured why not?
  8. Here are a couple additions I got last week, the $5 is an upgrade and the $20 is a new addition for the type:
  9. Welcome back! Sorry to hear about your unfortunate events, but still good to see you back again, and at least you held on to your type set through all you went through!
  10. Just a few mint/proof set moderns. Here's a link if you're interested! http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/sch/jtryka/m.html?item=261068109661&sspagename=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649&_trksid=p4340.l2562
  11. I filled my albums and have some extras available. All prices include shipping to the USA, please PM me or e-mail me at jtryka@yahoo.com if you are interested. Thanks! 12. I'm not sure, my gut tells me they started with that thin paper and switched to thicker paper when they realized how poorly it performed in circulation.
  13. That $5 note is from 1862, one of the very first "greenbacks" issued during the Civil War. The paper is super frail as these first issues were printed on very thin paper, so it's surprising it's lasted 150 years!
  14. Finally added something to my type set!
