What albums/folders do you have & how far are you?

I have not used albums to store my coins in, mainly because I do not want the album to tone out my coins.

I would like an album that you can put 2x2's or air-tites in the proper areas and can see the obverse and reverse that way. Maybe this album already exists and I just have not found it.

For now, I just keep my type sets together in 2x2 coin trays I get from Lighthouse

Hi-

I put together a 20th century type set with each coin placed in a Cointoin holder and then the holder and coin placed in a 2 x 2 staple type. Then stored the 2 x 2 in 20 pocket 3-ring binder pages. Absolutely no toning now for 10 years. Hope this might help Rabone.

Larry-

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like you too strive to stop the toning effect.

I know it is to each his own, but coins that have the circle tone ring around them from being in a old album for years just do not do anything for me. On the other hand, it just might be the thing that lights your fire. And so it goes...

I have mostly Whitmans!

Buff's

Jeffy's

Roosy's

Merc's

SLQ's

IHC's

And Kennedy's my dad gave me...I wouldn't buy these!

A Deluxe Harris SHQ w/ P andD

I also am thinking on buying a ASE Album for my ungraded set.

ps I need some advice!

I have a NGC MS-69 ASE set. I also have a 50 - 60% completed raw set, in airtites. I was thinking of taking the raw set out of the air tites and putting them in an album. I'm hoping 4 some nice even toning!

Question is two-fold, Is this a good thing to do and what knid of album do U suggest? Thx :ninja:;)

I have to "make" my own albums ;)

Importa 2x2's in Importa pages for 20 coins. I'd need bigger coinholders for some coins, but they seem to be kinda hard to find. I have made an album for russian coins from 1894 to 1917, which has places for over 300 coins. About 170 of them are filled by now. It includes russian and finnish coins of the period, and a couple of small russian medals. My second russian coin album is for russian and finnish coins from 1881 to 1894, it is allmost empty. :ninja:

Also I have a similar album for Austrian-Hungarian coins from 1892 to 1917. Since there aren't too many austro-hungarian coins of that period, it has space for coins from Serbia, Bulgaria and Montenegro too.

I'm happy with them ;)

ASE's turn pretty easily. I use a Littleton for my ASE's, but it's equivalent to a Dansco, same setup. You wouln't want a Whitman for sure.

I realize not it is going to take a miracle to get my Dansco SQ album w/proofs & silver complete.  I checked out 1999 silver sets and they're going for upwards of $350 on Ebay now!!!  Holy Moly.

It is cheaper right now to buy those 5 quarters individually. The proof set collectors seem to be driving the price, so the individual coins are a little more modest. Good luck!

I may actually check into that.  Thank you.

I just checked on eBay and it looks like they are all closing at about $45-$55 each, so you should be able to do a set of the 5 for about $250...that's expensive, but it's $100 cheaper than buying the whole set.

I can get the larger 2x2's fairly easy, Tane, PM me if you want me to help you out. It's just not Importa, but Harberger

Is this in the format of need/have? or Have/need ? or a number I like/another number I like?

You're doing quite well on your albums. I assume it's need/total. Just could pass up the opportunity for a zing at the Tiffibunny. :ninja:

I quite clearly said I was missing 94/246, aka missing 94 of 246 total.  :ninja:

Gosh I thought it was the "a number I like"/"another number I like" format. ;)
