As far as I can ascertain this one is unique:

Belgium 50 centimes struck as a gold proof.

I have to take a better picture, the reverse isd not as smudged looking in hand.

As for rare issued coins:

Peru 1983 5 Sol PCGS MS64 Mintage of 650.

Peru 1985 5 Intis PCGS MS66 Mintage of 3,972.

I also sent this to NGC and have yet to see another:

Thai Baht struck with two obv. dies NGC MS67

I have a few Dutch and US gold coins worth more money but this one is a personal favorite...

Wow, I can see why you named that one Hiho, it's beautiful and rare!

Thanks V, I'm still amazed I had the opportunity to purchase it. It's one of those "pinch me, I must be dreaming" coins.

Less medal, and more work of art. A very lovely image, coupled with a fascinating bonnet style. I am not really into shooting thalers, but there are some like this one that cross that invisible boundary and become more a work of art and become so much more intriguing and appealing for collectors of art in numismatics.

This one had a low mintage of 36,000:

RUSSIA, 50 kopeks 1902

Nobody knows how many of these were struck, but probably only a few hundred at most:

RUSSIA, Novodel 5 kopeks 1765-EM (Brekke 205, rarity ./ -- Bitkin H662, R2):

I have a few that I believe are a bit rare:

This one I assume did not have a high mintage as it is a medal minted for a jewish school called the Philanthropin Jewish School in Frankfurt am Main:

I have yet to find another example

I think we both appreciate the image of a woman on a coin (or paper money) in place of a guy with a beard.

Woman are just so much more interesting to look at... :ninja:

This is the first 3 cent coin minted in Canada. I'm not sure of the exact mintage. On a site it states 600 sets minted world-wide which may include the stamp and gold-plated stamp which comes with the set. I don't know whether this pertains to the coin itself.

I'm not even sure any more. I've got some R-6's VAM morgans. (In the several hundred range.) But something like this token/medal I have no idea of mintages.

I think there's probably a 0 or two missing - there's much more than several hundred of those sets floating around...

That's what I figured. I'm seeing them everywhere. Thanks!

Mintage figure wise my rarest coins are probably my 2005 Vatican mint set of which around 65,000-85,000 probably exist, never seen any concrete figures, only numbers I picked up on another forum.

Although I actually expect that some of the UK 10p minor varieties I have are actually 'rarer'. Whilst several million may have been minted initially some of the varities are unobtainable in mint sets, for example certain variety types from 1992, 2005 and 2006, all went into circulation. Sadly for the 1992, it only became mainstream knowledge relatively recently (I heard about it in 2002, although I had never seen them listed in any catalogue and only recently have they made it into catalogues). Thus ten years + of wear before most were actually looked for, which means finding one above VF is mission impossible.

I acctually have a VF 1992 10p i plucked from circulation the other week, and it was the 2nd rarest type.

there are 4 types of those 1992 10p's but there were so many even the rarest type has a mintage of over 1 million i would guess, my 1992 small head 20p is around 3 million or so i think.

did get a 300-500k mintage 2002 panda (getting those 2 figues in differant places) 2 weeks ago.

i'm also keeping back all my 2008 20p's i think there are are a couple of variants in there too
