ccg
Nice Ike. The blue's pretty cool.
Burks
It is quite beautiful. At just the right angle the colors really "pop". I paid less than I expected to for it. Thanks for the comments For those wondering, the Crowns are actual color. Got the color and quality down, now my image editting skills need some work (same size images would be nice). gxseries
Wow, really nice buys there Burks.
Burks
Thanks for the comments everyone Too bad the South Africa coin wasn't a proof, it would be worth about 30x what I paid. After a closer look I concluded it's just a really well struck UNC. They really do produce some very nice coinage.

Burks
Not really a purchase but I did receive this token as a prize from a giveaway on CU. Coin is a bit darker than the image. The reverse reads: "DISTRIBUTED BY EMPLOYES OF U.S. MINT DURING THE CELEBRATION OF PENNSYLVANIA'S BI-CENTENNIAL. OCT. 24, 1882."

jtryka
Nice pickups! That Barber has great details, but it looks like it got too close to the fire!
Burks
Nice pickups! That Barber has great details, but it looks like it got too close to the fire! I thought the same thing. Ran my finger across it and no dirt or anything came off Oh well!
jtryka
even so, it's a great coin for the price!
Burks
even so, it's a great coin for the price! Yup! It blows my other Barber quarter away in the details department. The Merc was just too pretty to let slide

Mark Stilson
1967 Netherlands 1 Gulden (silver?) You would think they would wait until the end of the year before changing.
Burks
1967 Netherlands 1 Gulden (silver?) You would think they would wait until the end of the year before changing. For 75 cents, I took a chance. If it isn't silver I still picked up a great looking coin. I'll have to weigh it at school Friday (don't have a scale at home). Never understood why they would change through the year. Just make a short run of silver for the year and double up on the copper-nickel the next. Burks
Here are some of the pics I promised: 1959 East Africa 1 Cent (toned). My favorite one out of the bunch. Pictures just don't capture all the colors very well. 1944-D Philippines 20 Centavos (toned) 1952 French Oceania 5 Francs (just a great looking design) 1956 South Africa 1 Farthing (toned) 1937 England 1 Farthing (toned)
Burks
A few medals my family brought back for me from New York City. First is kind of like those penny machines you see all over. Except this one strikes a large blank right in front of you. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/burks/DSC02337.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/burks/DSC02338.jpg Next is pretty easy to explain, the pictures do well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/burks/DSC02335.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/burks/DSC02336.jpg
