Ætheling Posted February 1, 2010 Report Share Posted February 1, 2010 Ah the 1887 coin that's an example of the ill fated jubilee head coinage struck between 1887-1892, apparently the design was universally unpopular with Victorian's because they thought it made the queen look stupid to wear such a small crown. I however, have to confess to adoring the jubilee coinage. It's my second all time favourite Victorian obverse after the Gothic florin/crown obverse.
