    Practically running the place...
  1. I received two 2010 Presidential proof sets today and one is perfect and the second has a surface problem on two of the coins. The Lincoln and the Pierce dollars have noticeable bubbling on the surface of the coin in the fields adjacent to the bust on the obverse. I tried to scan this to show it but was unable to clearly show this. My question is has anyone else experienced this and is it worth sending them back to the mint for coins without the bubbles.
  2. Thanks for the help on the coin as I appreciate it.
  3. I received these two pennies and a 4 pence today for my type set. The Pennies are both nice examples and they will fit into my collection nicely. The scan of the 1831 has something weird going on in the date area but it's clear under a magnifying glass. 1826 penny 1831 penny 1800 4 Pence or Croat
  4. I received this coin today and other then it's quite thin and made in 1787 and that's a US Nickel 2x2 flip that it's in I have no clue what it is as I don't have a coin book from the 1700's. The coin has almost a translucent orange toning that the scanner didn't capture very well.
  5. I've decided that I will have one large binder with the coins from Great Britain, India, and other British colonies in it. I only need a few more 4 pence for my Great Britain Type set to be complete, 11 coins for my India set to be complete and then I will move on to Malaysia, and the Straits Settlements. It's been a fun set to buy and will be great when it's complete.
  6. I love big copper and I'm sometime really suprised when I pick up a nice piece fairly cheap. This is a 1889 Cent and the scan doesn't do it justice because the coin is a nice red brown and it has a enough detail to make it interesting. This is my only coin from that country so I would put it at the back of my Great Britain Type Set as the coin was in circulation when England controlled the country.

  8. I bought a coin from a guy and when I checked his other auctions I saw this 1763 3 Pence and I decided I wanted it. The scan is pretty high contrast as the coin is much more pleasant to the eye when held in my hand then the scan.
  9. The weird marks by the "IND IMP" was caused by the scanner as it's not there under a magnifying glass. I'm convinced that it's a real coin and I'm glad I purchased it.
  10. I really wanted that coin but was I outbid right at the end. I usually pre determine what my top bid will be and then fire it off with 2 seconds left. That way I either win or lose but I never rebid over my intended high bid.
  11. I bought this last night and I think it's a awesome coin.
  12. I finally bought a 1876 Gothic Florin last night off of Ebay and after some heated last minute bidding this baby is mine. I wanted one really nice coin in this design and I have the 1949 Godless Florin to go with it as part of my Great Britain type set. Sellers images
  13. I bought this 1908 India Rupee and when it came today I was pleased that it has a nice strike and is white with nice mint lusture. My scanner thries to make it look blue but it's a nice white coin.
  14. I bought a Token or Medal that commemorates Winston Churchill's 80Th birthday. I had seen this token a couple times on Ebay but this one has dark toning that really makes it look nice so I went ahead and bought it.
