Major finds today!!!!

Brilliant MS red 1972-D penny

TWO wheat pennies (1953-D and 1957-D with a hint of luster)

1938-P Jeff nickel (F/EF condition)

And the big one!!!

A buffalo nickel! And no, not one of the ones that were made in 2005! It's in pretty bad shape and has no trace of a date left, but those things don't show up very often in circulation!

I Love those wheaties too!

Got pretty good handful from circulation roll's, :ninja: Went to the bank 2day for more....forgot it's Veteran's Day!

Found a few oddities this past week:

BU bicentennial quarter

Virgin Islands-P quarter (only Samoa left to go!!!)

Series '76 $2 bill

Series '69-D $1 in decent condition and so far off-center the bottom-left corner is nearly cut off. The back is perfectly centered.

And fresh one today: 1943-S war nickel in F-VF!!! Never thought I'd see one of those come up in my till!

Finally got my hands on another Puerto Rico quarter and my first American Samoa today.

But, the big one: One of my coworkers handed me a $10 bill and asked if I was interested in the old small portrait bills. I gave him a 10 out of my pocket for it, and then took a closer look at it.

$10, series 1963 star note, serial B 00709564*. Except for a corner fold, it's in near-perfect condition. Now as for why somebody decided to blow it on a lottery ticket...

Canadian nickel, 1927!!!! Ol' George V is looking a little worse for wear, but the coin is otherwise in excellent condition.

Nifty finds today:

2 BU bicentennial quarters

Virgin Islands quarter

Nickels:

1946-P

1943-P

XF/AU 1938-P This is, by a wide margin, the best-preserved nickel I've ever found from before '40. The leftmost portion of the top three steps is still visible.

Pics eventually.

Nifty finds yesterday.

2001 and 1970 canadians

1940 and 1945 wheaties, both pretty beat up

And, just when I had thought my luck ran out with the nickels...

A very interesting 1948-S. It doesn't show in the pictures, but it still has full mint luster, rather than the dull yellowish-gray typical of circulated coins of that time. Yet, it is somehow worn to a degree that you would only expect in coins with no remaining trace of luster. Still, at 11.3 M mintage, it's a welcome addition to my collection at any time.

(and just for kicks, the '51-S I found several weeks ago)
