  1. Congrats, K! Is this for a specific set of yours?
  2. Looks good, Mark! Certainly a keeper for it's story
  3. Another reason I need to visit Italy...
  4. Yeah you have! I drool thinking about your pickings.
  5. What is the significance of a bank token?
  6. Both notes are great. The Chinese one is unusually gorgeous compared to what I usually think of/see in Chinese notes. The design reminds me more of Japan, though.
  7. For a twenty-something college student, I think it is. Compared to jtryka's or some other set's here, NOT EVEN CLOSE!
  8. That's how I got ADDICTED to note collecting (and now have a very close to complete silver cert series). My dad finds a few of those every few years.
  9. Done, bobh: Bobh's poll!
  10. I love it, See. If we do a popular banknote idol later this year, PLEASE submit it!
  11. Interesting. I guess my $1 silver certificate series finally paid off in some way!
  12. What's the Friedberg number on the red seal note?
  13. I have very few ancient coins in my collection because I am intimidated by the designs, varieties, possibilities of contemporary or modern fakes, and many other reasons. If you actively collect ancients, how do you collect them? By series? By design? By ruler? By "country"?
  14. Still not into world coins! Not much catches my fancy except a few series here and there. I've seen few series that are as beautiful as the many beautiful US series! I'm a homer!
  15. Nothing's changed but once or twice a year I add a note or coin to a type set.
  16. bump. My answers the same. I collect series, so date and mint is necessary. THough I have added a few more type coins as inspired by above.
  17. I think we should have a PSSMI (Popular Swiss Shooting Medals Idol) contest similar to the PCIs that we also run. The only downside is that we'd only have 3 or 4 people entering all their beautiful medals!
  18. Ok. I was just curious. I am always interested in how numismatists care about sample sizes.
