elverno
Thanks Art. Mostly just cheap stuff so far but I enjoy them.
elverno
1795 20 Soldi, Sardinia. On my site These things were minted flat!
Art
How flat are you talking about?
elverno
Meaning that coin is probably VF++ for issue...
elverno
1808 1 Centesimo, Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy. 19mm I bought a lot of 4 Venice centesimos. None of them were particularly nice... Sigh...
elverno
1812 1 Grosz, Grand Duchy of Warsaw. 20mm This is the second example I've collected. The first: 1812 1 Grosz, Grand Duchy of Warsaw. 20mm comes from what I call the "Smith Collection", a collection of coins from 1812 that an very nice individual dropped off to my house one day as a gift. I don't know why either but he did mention I was out of luck on the gold in the collection... BTW, I'm happy to store your Napoleonic era collections at no cost. elverno
1808 ½ Dute, Napoleonic East Indies. 17.5mm Struck on a slightly undersized planchet this piece is in better shape than you usually see.
thedeadpoint
Oh wow. Now compare that with a contemporary US coin and I'm surprised by the difference in strike and quality of design!
Art
Nice Vern.
elverno
1804 Le couronnement, France. 32.5 x 33.5mm Bramsen 335 d'Essling 1029 This horrible filler is an example of an extremely rare brass medal. This example is slightly oval in shape for no reason I can tell.
elverno
1805 1 Pfenning, Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. 20mm
Art
nice color on that 1805 pfennig.
elverno
Kind of an interesting color at least. I was pleased that the color is accurate, I've finally found lighting that gets it right though it doesn't show the toning as well as I'd like. elverno
1794 1 Schilling, Mecklenburg-Schwerin. 16mm Tiny silver with a very weak/worn obverse.
elverno
1797 ½ Penny Token, Great Britain. D & H 20 - Angusshire; Dundee. Not a great example but I picked it up cheap.
elverno
1797 1 Pfenning, Brunswock-Wolfenbuttel. 20mm Cheap but fun...
elverno
1842 Death of Ferdinand Philippe, Duke of Orléans, France. 25mm Strangely enough I put this and another medal on this subject on Omnicoin a few months back but never followed up and put them on my website. Of course this particular Duke isn't relevant to my normal period of collecting but I found the incidence of 10 and 12 sided medals in the early to mid-1840s an interesting side subject. Since the object of these medals were usually generals or marshals of the First Empire...
elverno
1794 4 Heller, Hesse-Cassel. Just awful. And I've got larger pictures to really prove it!

elverno
1814 2 Soldi, Genoan Republic. 18mm I would normally passed on this coin except that it has the PRÆSIDIUM spelling in the reverse legend rather than the more commonly seen (at least by me) PRESIDIUM. See below: 1814 2 Soldi, Genoan Republic. 18mm That said, the only other example on Omnicoin that was not mine was the PRÆSIDIUM variant, though in even worse condition. elverno
1815 1 Dute, Netherlands East Indies. 21.5mm Sort of a strange example. All the wear, if it is wear, has left the raised elements and lettering rounded instead of flattened.
Art
Very neat coins. I especially like the Genoans that you've pictured.
elverno
Very neat coins. I especially like the Genoans that you've pictured. I love them too. The second was a gift from an Italian friend (NP). It was his duplicate, which tells you a lot about his collection!
