A decent percentage of my Roosevelt Proofs Registry coins are 69 DCAMs or UCs. When buying coins in that price range the DCAM vs CAM vs just proof carries very little premium and they are so very pretty.
1985-S Proof 69 DCAM
1988-S PR69DCAM
2000-S Silver PR69DCAM
2002-S Silver PR69DCAM
So my PCGS Roosevelt Dimes - Proofs set is now:
Ranked: 42
Completion: 48.75% with 41 out of the 80 required coins.
%DCAM: 76.92
Great project. I think that you'll find some of the "common" date Jeffersons are a challenge to find in truly GEM UNC condition.
I'll certainly enjoy watching your progress on this one.
Beautiful notes. I have a few Canadian $2 notes but nothing from that series. The colors are super. Singapore notes very nice. Colors and flowers are great.
I know a lot of collectors credit Lincoln cents as their introduction series. I wonder how many folks actually started because of Jefferson nickels like Finn.
Nice nickels everyone.
A few new Roosies for the collection. Both are PCGS FB coins.
The toning on the 55D looks really unattractive in the photo but in reality is quite nice. It's a rose colored tone with golden highlights. I don't usually like toned coins and almost never purchase anything for my Roosevelts with toning but I took a chance on this because of the price. I like it.
The exception to my toning rule is the wonderful overall golden hue taken on by many Jefferson nickels. I find it quite attractive and will purchase coins toned that way but I won't pay a premium for them.
Very nice. I have the Pike's Peak medal in my collection but none of the last three badges. I haven't gotten anything new in a long time. Maybe it's time.
So Al, what do you think the grade is? Do you see any flat spots from wear? Any fine lines that would indicate cleaning? This looks like a nice coin but I'd be reluctant to assign a grade with having the coin in hand.
