On the obverse there is the serbian royal eagle with serbian arms on its shield, on the reverse is date, denomination ** ПAPA and the name of the country, KPAЉEBИHA CPБИJA, Kingdom of Serbia. Coins are made of Cupro-Nickel.

1 Corona 1908 5 Corona 1908 In 1908 Franz Josef I, emperor of Austria, celebrated the 60th year of his reign. He was crowned in 1848 in Vienna. FJI had one of the longest reigns in the world, he was an emperor for 68 years, from 1848 to 1916. He died during the First World War, and was succeeded by Karl I who was forced to abdicate in 1918. He was the last significant emperor of Austria, and the last one who was popular when he died. Austro-Hungarian empire dissolved after the WWI. The commemorative series includes 1 and 5 Coronas in silver, and 10, 20 and 100 Coronas in gold. There are restrikes of the 100 Corona. There is also a commemorative stamp series and many medals commemorating the anniversary.

1 Heller 1914 2 Heller 1914 10 Heller 1893 10 Heller 1915 20 Heller 1914 This series of small coins was introduced in 1892, when the Austro-Hungarian empire adopted a gold standard, which made it's currency (100 heller = 1 corona/krone) equal to the french franc. Coins depict Austrian imperial eagle with Habsburg shield. Coins were made of bronze and nearly pure nickel (10 and 20 hellers are magnetic), but during the First World War they were replaced with iron and copper-nickel-zink.

Yes it is, it was one of the first coins of the princedom of Bulgaria (the first series consisted of 2, 5 and 10 Stotinkas, all with date 1881). They were minted in England. As an indication of it, there reads "HEATON" under the leaves of the reverse. Very nice coin indeed

I would be interested in Chinese (1890's-1920's) coins, but because of that I haven't bought any yet. I need to study more about them first.

I have decided not to buy any newer than 1918 coins this year. I've kept the decicion quite well, though I had to buy one brand new 10 Rouble.. My oldest coin is from 1749, but theoretically my collecting area expands to 1400's or If I find oil from my backyard, to 900's

Look at this auction! And guess who won it, and very cheap! That's a real cherrypick for me I can't wait to get it. It is the famous Romanov-tercentennary medal, after which this commemorative Rouble was modelled. I have allways liked the Romanovs and felt sorry for them. The last imperial family faced such a tragedy.

I have to "make" my own albums Importa 2x2's in Importa pages for 20 coins. I'd need bigger coinholders for some coins, but they seem to be kinda hard to find. I have made an album for russian coins from 1894 to 1917, which has places for over 300 coins. About 170 of them are filled by now. It includes russian and finnish coins of the period, and a couple of small russian medals. My second russian coin album is for russian and finnish coins from 1881 to 1894, it is allmost empty. Also I have a similar album for Austrian-Hungarian coins from 1892 to 1917. Since there aren't too many austro-hungarian coins of that period, it has space for coins from Serbia, Bulgaria and Montenegro too. I'm happy with them

Yep, same guy. He has engraved dies for many east-European countries, like Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, propably for Hungary too. On bulgarian coins his signature is under the portrait of Ferdinand I and on montenegrin coins under the leaves which are under the portrait of Nikola I. On montenegrin coins there are only his initials, SS. Bulgarian coins also bear the mintmark of Kremnitz, a cyrillic KB. Some of his other works: Montenegro, 1 Perper 1912 Serbia 50 Para 1915 Schwartz was rather good at his job I'm a big fan of his.

Yes I did know. They were minted in Avesta during a horrible war which the swedes screw up completely. To me words "copy" and "counterfeit" have differend meanings. Copy is something modern only made for collectors, counterfeit is something which was ment to fool the shopkeepers So, i say no to "copies", but partial yes for "counterfeits".
