It depicts Nicholas II and the symbols of the imperial power. The legend says approximately: "Nicholas II by the grace of God, emperor and autocrat of all Russia, crowned in Moscow 1896th year". This coin is quite sought after and an uncirculated specimen may cost over 200 dollars, though still one of the common coins. Nicholas was crowned in 14th of May, 1896 in Moscow.

Low relief Hig relief Composition: Silver 900/000 Weight: 20g Diameter: 35mm Mintmasters: BC = Viktor Smirnov (1913-1917) This coin was minted in 1913 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. It depicts the first Romanov-tsar, Mihail Fjodorovits and the last russian emperor Nicholas II who actually wasn't a Romanov but a Holstein-Gottorp. There are two different versions of this coin, one with higher and one with lower relief. High relief variety is one of the most common coins of Russian Empire, and and uncirculated specimen is valued about 40-60 USD. Uncirculated low relief may be over $100 due its smaller mintage (50000 pcs). Price could(and should) be higher, but because the variants aren't widely known it stays relatively low.

Actually there are many types of this coin, atleast six different portraits were used. Coins minted in 1900's are generally more difficult to obtain than the older ones.
