  1. Here's the latest addition to my Roosevelt dime collection.
  2. I got my Secret Santa package. I didn't wait for Christmas to open it. So here are the pics. John and Nancy Wilson ANA squished quarter - 2004. It's a very nice item. A PA statehood quarter was used and the inscriptoin is nicely done and easily read. This is especially nice for me as John and Nancy are both friends and members of the same local club with me for many years. A beautiful 1947-S Phillipines Half Dollar. A nice addition to my collection. I have the 5 cent and 10 cent pieces but did not have the half dollar. OK. I have no idea what this is. It's tiny and I was barely able to get a readable image of it. I have some research to do. Obviously I don't already have one. Thank you very much Secret Santa.
  3. I got some nice new banknotes in Christmas cards. I've posted them in the Ghana and Columbus threads so I won't take up space by posting them here as well. Ah! Why note! and and
  4. Nice notes. You guys are giving me banknote fever - again!!!
  5. Beautiful medals and beautiful photography & processing.
  6. That Anne Maundy set is quite nice. Why is it your favorite? Is there something special about it besides the age and design. Are there any hammered Maundy sets?
  7. Here's a Jefferson War Nickel in an old ANACs slab. I liked the old ANACs slabs and have quite a few of my Indian Head Cents in them. I was not pleased when they switched to their newer format as they no longer fit the Intercept Shield boxes that I use to house my IHCs that are ANACs. MS64 with 5 full steps. It's a pretty nice nickel.
  8. That's a nice medal. The trial piece at the auction was beautiful as well. I'm quite surprised at the estimated price and even more so at the final price.
  9. Great coins. I could fall in love with all of them. (Especially that Maundy set! WOW!)
  10. And a few more. Still having a bit of trouble getting the white balance right on these. The slabs really are white white not this tanish color.
  11. Added a bunch to Omnicoin today. A few examples.
  12. added a bunch of Jeffersons to Omnicoin today. Here are a few examples.
  13. Nice notes everyone. While I'm a big Ghana fan, I do think the colors are a little overdone. I'll probably be looking for that set after the New Year.
  14. My December purchases arrived today. Roosevelt Dimes: •NGC ••2002S Clad PF69UC ••1994S Clad PF69UC ••1981P MS66FT ••1981D MS66FT •PCGS ••1973S PR68CAM ••1971S PR68CAM I'll post pics and add them to omnicoin when I get to the photography thing.
  15. It's not surprising that there's nothing left for me. You're getting all the great stuff.
  16. I can see where it adds to the challenge of putting a set of notes together. That's fun.
  17. Thanks Dave. I did not know any of this. So the banks issue the notes under government authority. Value and trade-wise they are completely interchangeable - is that correct?
  18. I like the architectural contrast on those notes Dave. Please why two different banks? Do they have a central banking establishment with subsidiaries or some such thing?
  19. Is that the "best" known example? Do you have the Provenance for the coin? If so how far back can it be traced?
