  1. Very nice Ian. Second and third look as though they might have used the same die for the reverse.
  2. Hello and welcome to CoinPeople. I like the way you photographed your coin to show us the rotation.
  3. Another beautiful coin. I can't wait to read about your "B" story.
  4. Tough question. I think there are still circulating gold coins in some of the Oil Countries. I've been told that Sovereigns were commonly used in North Africa and Italy during World War II. I'm guessing this was somewhat specialized commerce vs. what I think of as circulating, ie. a trip to the grocery store.
  5. Well you've already had another view of Hussulo's beautiful gold piece that was the PCI2011 overall champ. Here's a rather nice coin that was the PCI2011 Silver category winner. It has great character. Maybe we'll see it again in PCI2013. PCI2011 SILVER WINNER Mark Stilson's Grant Half Dollar
  6. I'd surely love to have that happen.
  7. Nice coins T3. Are they from you visits there?
  8. I knew about them because I collected Canadian coins when I was a kid. They are quite interesting. I think there were a few entered in the PCI competitions. I'll look back when I get a chance.
  9. How's about this one. 2012 Star-Spangled Banner Commemorative Coins Year: 2012 Public Law: 111-232 Gold Obverse Designer: Donna Weaver Engraver: Joseph Menna Description: Depicts a naval battle scene from the War of 1812, with an American sailing ship in the foreground and a damaged and fleeing British ship in the background. Inscriptions are IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY and 1812 – 2012.
  10. They look nice. I have not seen them before. Could you explain them for us?
  11. As far as I know that was the last US coin to depict a warship.
  12. Don't know anything about it but it's a great looking medal and I like it.
  13. Terrific coins. I always preferred NGC slabs to PCGS slabs. I think they look a lot nicer and stack nicer too.
  14. Cleaned or not I think it's a beauty. Great addition to anyone's collection.
  15. Great coin Ik. Are you going to enter it in PCI2013? Sometimes cleaning is the right thing to do. With black gunk all over it the best this little beauty could have hoped for was the melting post. So you saved its little life.
  16. You can't find coins anywhere that are prettier and more interesting than those right here in our PCI competition. Start getting your PCI2013 entries photographed and ready to go. Remember the quality of the photo will play a major role in the voting so do a good job.
  17. I would think that with the letter they'd probably be valuable to an error collector of even any collector of UK coins. Welcome to CoinPeople. Hope you enjoy it here.
  18. Nice looking coin. What year is it from?
  19. Great designs and colors on the Fiji notes.
  20. It can fit in both. I'd say the decision should rest with the owner of the coin. Of course there's always Group 9..
  21. I think that NCLT is the correct category for this coin. It is produced by the Canadian Mint but never intended for actual circulation. Thus Non-Circulating Legal Tender.
  22. I like the looks of the coin. Do the diameter and weight match the norm?
