  1. This time I was smart and put it in a 2x2. If the cat can eat a 2x2 with staples and coin, more power to him. I just don't want to be the cat in 24-48 hours.
  2. Erica's sister gave me a 1942 Mercury Dime she found while working. It's in fine condition.
  3. Picked these up this morning at the local show: 1942 1947-D 1954-S 1955-S-LIBIERTY
  4. Although I may be a slightly obsessed collector, by no means will I did through cat poo for a '63 Roosie. Now if it was a Morgan dollar and a cow ate it......where's my gloves?
  5. That's how it was when I worked at Domino's about six years ago. Nothing but credit/debit cards and checks. Rarely would someone pay in cash other than my dad. Couldn't imagine how it is now. Heck, even my parents are thinking about debit cards. Everything they purchase is through checks while I deal only in cash. Latest find was a 1963 Roosevelt in VF that I ended up losing a day later. It's either around the house or my cat ate it.
  6. 1959 KN East Africa 1 Cent - UNC. Hints of red/pink toning. 1949 Spain 5 Pesetas - XF/AU. 1969 India 3 Paise - Proof. Very little haze.
  7. Received my Flying Eagle/IHC album from Art. Also received my prize from JamminJ. Best shot I could get:

    Art

Received a very nice IHC album from Art. Thanks a bunch.
  9. Care to explain the Breen 2211 designation? I'm seeing what appears to be a die crack between the S and 5.
  10. In today's mail I received a: 1945-S Mercury Dime graded MS64 by NGC. I bought this coin unseen from a dealer (WTCG) on CU. Very pleased with what I got and for the price, sweeet.
  11. Over the weekend I received my first ancient coin that was part of a giveaway over at CU. It is described as "Gordianus III, Roman Empire, 238-244 A.D." Very cool coin and it still has a lot of detail for its age. Love it love it love!
  12. The Egyptian pound is amazing.
  13. Nice bunch of stuff. I have a Bahamas 50 cent proof as well, very beautiful coin.
  14. Went to my first coin show in months today. Spent a bit more than I wanted but I did get some nice coins. 1910 - Although the photo's don't show it the coin does have luster hiding. The reverse is quite nice. Might had overpaid slightly. Listed as MS63, I gave it high-end AU weak strike obverse. 1909 - This one was my first purchase of the day. Just couldn't pass it up due to the luster, color, and price. The spot on the reverse is blue/purple toning. Silver Round - My dad came up yesterday and helped me replace my back brakes and rotors. Also went with me to get four new tires. So I got him a nice gift as a token of thanks. It was $0.50 over spot too (almost too nice to give away!).
  15. Received two packages of coins today. First contained: 1965 Kennedy - UNC 1966 Kennedy -UNC (2) 1967 Kennedys - UNC 1883 V Nickel "No Cents" - VF Second contained: Chile 1933 Peso - VF Saudi Arabia 1976 5 Halala - EF Saudi Arabia 1972 25 Halala - EF Morocco (French Protectorate) AH1370 5 Francs - VF India (Bahawalaur) 1940 1/4 Anna - F obverse, VF reverse Germany Empire 1906A 1/2 Mark - XF with nice luster
  16. Erica received a $2 note from the gas station. It's been pretty well circulated for a $2, even though it's a 1976/8 (forgot the year, already spent it). I found a rather nice 1967 quarter. XF or there about. Out of the 1965-1970 range, the 67' is the hardest to come by for me. I can expect about 10-15 1965's a month in change.
  17. I like the 1812 Thaler, it has character.
  18. Had to run to the coin shop today. Needed more cent sized 2x2's (sent what I had off to someone). Was waiting on my sister to get there so I went through the 50% box. Surprised? Coins are still in the 2x2's so don't worry about the dust and junk. Didn't have the sizes I needed at my parents to remove and then replace them. 1931 Great Britain Farthing 1977 Rhodesia One Cent - Love the reverse on this one. Has some nice pink color on the reverse, hard to photograph 1937 Great Britain Farthing 1908 Italy 20 Cent - Always loved this design. 1952 South Africa Farthing - Didn't bother to photograph. Obverse is messy but the reverse has nice pink/green colors. 1927 India 1/4 Anna - AWESOME coin here. Love the design and colors.
  19. I understand that one! A huge percentage of my family is German. I can trace my dad's family directly back to Germany and almost all of my mom's side as well. Just even better that German coinage/notes really attracts me too!
  20. So many wonderful colors and designs. You must sure love your Marks. Really don't see many of those at local shows or shops. I like them.
  21. A great package from gxseries, my auction winnings. 1782 Ireland 1 Lib-something-of-another Fair/AG 1816 Great Britain Shilling (I need to get more of these!) AG/G 1826 Great Britain 1/2 Penny Fair 1910 British Guiana 4 Pence F+ 1952 Australia Penny VF/EF I really like the 1816 Shilling. In hand it looks much better than the pictures showed (great pictures but it must be in hand to appreciate the details). Love them GX, THANKS! Edit: The 1782 is my oldest coin to date with the 1816 being tied for 2nd oldest with my US Large Cent.
  22. I think the large cent and Jefferson nickel are outstanding.
  23. I love the South African coinage. I have two or three of those coins in UNC/BU condition. Lovely design.
