  1. NNC MS-67RD 1913 Swiss 1 Rappen - The previous owner and myself both agree the coin is around the MS63 area. At PCGS/NGC I doubt it would get the RD designation due to coloration. May even get the bodybag because of some "green" on the reverse. Nice coin nonetheless. It was free though.
  2. Flea Market Finds: Jeffersons: 1943-P = XF, nice rainbow toning around the rim 1947-P = Low UNC, light gold toning 1947-S = AU, light rose toning around the rim 1962-P = AU 1970-D = Low UNC, blast white 1971-D = UNC, still in mint cello. $4 for all of them wasn't bad.
  3. I forgot my macro lenses at my apartment.
  4. I bought: 1998 Australia 50 Cent - George Bass/Matthew Flinders (Four of them) - About 0.5oz silver each 1911-A Germany 1 Pfenning - Nice purplish toning, great condition (AU/UNC) 1920 Canada 1 Cent - Gold/pink toning. Maybe UNC? Pictures to come for this one in the grading forum. Love this piece!!! Dad bought: 2002 P Canada 1 Cent - Specimen - Great looking coin, I really like it. 1967 Canada 1 Cent - Just a nice coin 1990 Isle of Man 50 New Pence - Christmas boating scene 1987 Mauritius 1 Cent - 2x2 says UNC but it looks like a proof.....
  5. Purchased at the Ohio Coin Expo today: 1/4oz Engelhard "Prospector" bullion - $3.90 I wanted a 1/10oz but they didn't have any. 1973 Nepal proof set. Nicely toned coins - $3 1960 Cyprus uncirculated set. Awesome 5 Mils - $2 Grandpa picked up a 2001 Vatican set for $9, 1974 Israel UNC set for $2, and dad got a couple $5 bills.
  6. Picked up some nice ones today. Chile 1951 20 Centavo - Nice blue tones Jordan 1964 10 Fils - Nice chunk o' copper. Red tones. US 1965 1 Cent - Just a darn nice strike. US 1951-S 1 Cent - Obverse is iffy, reverse is really nice. Bold dark red color. Philippines 1944-S 1 Centavo - Cool colors. I like this type. Finland 1917 50 Pennia - Still holds some of its luster. Just a nice looking piece of silver. Switzerland 1936-B 2 Rappen - So well struck I thought it was a proof at first!
  7. Wouldn't surprise me if I undergraded. I'm either spot on or low on my grading of Mercs. Comparing it to my PCGS MS64 this coin is much nicer, especially in the luster and strike. But there is some "flatness" on the left, lower part of the hair. Could be a strike issue though.
  8. Here are the photos: 1941 Mercury 1937 Buffalo
  9. Picked up two coins at the show today: 1941 Mercury Dime - Choice AU. May get a 60 on a good day. 1937 Buffalo Nickel - XF/Scratches. I liked the color and for $1, won't complain.
  10. The Aswan Dam Commem is impressive.
  11. Excellent collection! The reverse design on those is really attractive. One of my favorite non-US coinage to collect.
  12. Yeah I'm an idiot. Was reading a topic ON aluminum cents. Brain said STEEL, hands said aluminum, brain said "looks good". Derrrrrrr
  13. Dad got a 1956-D wheatie in change today.
  14. Gpnyc, with some of the coins I've seen in NGC holders, there's a chance it will go 65. For some reason they seem a bit "loose" on their Buffalo grading. Do you agree? Could be just me though. Just my experience.
  15. Bought myself a new loupe today. A H.E. Harris and Co. wide field 10x. I tried the 16x but found it difficult to easily focus under normal lighting. Been using it for about a hour today and really love it. It's so much better than my old $3 loupe that was plastic and kind of cheap. The new loupe is heavy metal (steel?) that is easy to handle and focus. I like how it stays extended unlike my old one that didn't like to stay in place. Well worth the $12! They had a Bausch & Lomb but it was $60, very nice piece though.
  16. Speaking of that. I just found a 1943 and 1943-D aluminum cents! Nasty looking things but still a cool find.
  17. I've seen just the tokens for sale before. So I guess they are collectable! The commems are great. The Jefferson one especially.
  18. That's what I did until my parents bought me a flat clinch stapler. They really aren't that expensive and if you do a lot of 2x2's, your hands will thank you. Staples can be purchased at any coin shop really. A box of 5000 costs like $5. It's a really good investment especially for me as every coin I have (except stuff like copper/nickel pulled from circulation) are in 2x2's. Edit: The stapler I use is the one on the left side in the link Stujoe posted. Really nice item. Done over 1,000 2x2's and still clicking away.
  19. The Isle of Man coin is just too cool! The details in the Queen's hair are pretty outstanding. What's going on with the proof buffalo nickel there? Is it the lighting, design, or is the back half of the buffalo just not fully cameoed?
  20. I found that in my mail yesterday. Thanks Mark!
