  1. Nice coins! I assume you will be grading them. Let us know how it comes out. I think they will do well.
  2. Nice one! Great provenance and very well preserved kopek and date punches. Congrats!
  3. There has to be a reason to show a coin. In this case we are discussing WWCC auction, so I showed what I acquired. Hard to do it out of context.
  4. I did not get anything from Bob Julian's section . But, I won one coin from the other section. There were some nice Catherine I roubles there. The one I won is not a beauty, but for the type it is one of the better ones I've seen - САМОДЕРИЦА. It is not screwed with, has good original surfaces and a nice toning.
  5. BTW, the cypher 10 kopeks from the first post considered by many to be a fake.
  6. There are some nice Paul re-overstrikes in upcoming Markov auction.
  7. There are few things about picking up coins at the auction that makes it questionable: 1. Will they give you coins that are not paid for yet? 2. Do you want to deal with customs on the way out of the country on the way home? I usually do not pick up coins and wait for them to arrive by mail.
  8. If you tell me the lots, I can tell you what they sold for.
  9. 474 - $5250 475 - $2800 476 - $5300
  10. Here are the results: Sincona Collection 1-1143: 10,911,310.00 (estimates 954,250)

  12. Possibly, but I did not notice any in the room. But, I was there only for the first day. Auction was conducted in English. When there is interest in Russian coin from local buyers, auction normally switches to German (and English). I think the same thing occurred at Sincona, but I cannot recall for sure..
  13. Only the lots marked in red in the catalog required gloves. And it was not fun. The gloves are slippery and I could not even get the coins out of the holders. So I was being assisted with that part.
  14. I attended first day only. I do not think all those high price items make any difference for us, middle layer collectors, or for coin market in general. Still I was surprised about some prices. I was interested in 1808 EM denga. It had scratches all across the reverse. Still it fetched 17,000. And I thought I had a chance due to its condition In any case, I am glad I had a chance to handle those rarities (but had to wear gloves provided during veiwing).
  15. I had one with ///////////////// edge. Picture is not great, but here it is.
  16. Is that you? - http://www.ma-shops.com/nostalgicoins/item.php5?id=152&lang=en
  17. This site is in Russian, but you can see the statistics from the recent years in auctions: http://www.m-dv.ru/monety-rossii-1700-1917/kid,20/mid,3/nid,18/types.html
  18. Upcoming Heritage auction has 3 pieces (you can still get one) and they had two more sold back in April. The issue of mint statistics has to do with fiscal year vs. calendar year.
  19. It's been on Ebay for a while. Save your money.
  20. This piece in this discussion is 100 percent fake. Has no value.
  21. How long has this coin been floating around your desk? These days a one in a nice grade will bring a few thousand dollars.
