  1. We're still waiting on a 1556 I believe.
  2. Can't find such a thread. I'll try to make one this weekend.
  3. I disagree. I think the wear of the *die* is what this series is known for (which is why I don't own one - can never find one with good wear patterns, or one that the liberty doesn't look like a zombie). As for the suggestion that it's the best wearing coin design, I think I started a poll with that question a few years ago. Let me try to find it.
  4. Art, I noticed the bag marks on the cheeks. I never really appreciated how often you see marks like that on the cheeks of Jeff. I'll need to keep my eyes open.
  5. What a haul! How did you come across that?
  6. Love it, Kornholio. How many other SA coins do you have? Jeff, I like the gentle wear on the 1818 but the 1825 has surprisingly appealing wear too.
  7. Awesome thread, guys! I will have to drive through downtown Richmond in hopes of seeing something similar!
  8. Not bad wear patterns for a busty. Thanks for sharing! Which die variety is it?
  9. Is that a trace of luster I see on the penny or some toning?
  10. I was just thinking "oy... more world notes... when is jtryka going to post some notes in this forum? I need some gorgeous greenbacks!"...
  11. Jeez! I haven't completed mine yet! COngrats, CCG!
  12. This is why I want a numismatic photography forum!
  13. Wonderful! These photos are great *studies of the coin*. You're not trying to sell me it or pad an investment, you're studying how it was struck, how it wears, the life of the die, etc.
  14. I feel like they could convey that in a more amiable way. I need to work on a lot of stuff before the next show in March/April.
  15. Do you ask prices when you do your initial notes/checking?
  16. What sort of environment is this in? At FUN? At a local show? At your dealer's shop?
  17. Thanks all around, guys. Art, as to the above quote, do you tell them what you'll offer first? Or do you ask what they want? That's my problem. I don't tell them up front. I'm worried I'll either overshoot the ask (and get ripped off) or undershoot and offend them. Instead, I have them tell me the price. I don't know if the ask is their lowest or if they want to see if I'll haggle. The only way to fix this is better education of the value of the coin. Somehow I need to find the value of scarcer coins/notes with a smaller market.
