Great Laker Posted March 14, 2007 Report Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hello everyone. As you may have guessed, I live near the Great Lakes in Northern Indiana. I have been collecting for nearly 30 years now and my collection consists of over 2,500 coins. My main interest is U.S. silver coins (investment and modern) but I also enjoy collecting currency, military challenge coins, tokens, medals, elongated coins plus a smaller collection of foreign and ancients. Outside of numismatics, I also collect Corgi die-cast WWII aircaft, Wm Britains miniature soldiers (civil war), military artifacts, antiques and Harbour lights sculptures. Locally I enjoy photographing and viewing ships of the Great Lakes and visiting historic lighthouses around the country when I have a chance. edix2001 Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 This week's Numismatic News reports that the Penn-Ohio Wooden Money Collectors have issued a set of 50 wooden nickels featuring lighthouses on Lake Erie., followed by future sets of lighthouses on the other Great Lakes.
