Dave
Nice notes, Cemars and MMMM! I've not cared for the Turkish notes as of late, but those are a lot better! It's interesting that the Brazilian note has three zeros instead of a 100 in the left corner. I suppose its an aid to the blind?
Dave
Got the last note to finish up a circulated set of the Hawaii issues in WWII. It's better in hand than the scan, which is kinda off a bit.

Yes Dave, I have 1,5,10 and 50 notes from the same serie. They have them as well but in different orders. Ps, nice piece from the WWII era. I'll share some German notes soon from 1935, 37, 39. Rigo
I have so many world notes (few US notes) that I don't remember which was my last purchase. I have a video but because I mess up so much and say a couple of bad words, I don't want to put it on here (sure you can find it). So instead, I'll just post some photos. It kept saying most of my pics were too large. Edited May 4, 2012 by Rigo
jtryka
That $5 note is from 1862, one of the very first "greenbacks" issued during the Civil War. The paper is super frail as these first issues were printed on very thin paper, so it's surprising it's lasted 150 years!
ccg
Very nice! Was the paper intentionally thin as a sort of anti-counterfeit feature (like how French notes were printed on a crispy paper), or was it just the way it was?
jtryka
I'm not sure, my gut tells me they started with that thin paper and switched to thicker paper when they realized how poorly it performed in circulation.
