  1. I'm going with the older design (not to be confused with the older coin...)
  2. How about coin watches? Those are cool, but way wayyy out of my budget.

Those 1877 IHC 13c stamps are pretty interesting, being issued in 1978 before the rate change to 15c, and while the USPS was investigating and trying out tiny stamps in an effort to save money by getting more stamps printed on less paper... I have a bunch that I use myself the rare times I use the USPS.
  4. Got extras of some dates. All ugly MS60 pieces have been removed. 1968 (PL): 75c ea 1977: $1 ea, $4/5 1978: 75c ea, $3/5 1991: $1 ea, $4/5, $7/10 1994: $1 ea, $4/5 2001P: $1 ea, $4/5 2002P (QE golden jubilee commem): 75c ea, $3/5 Postage and packaging at cost. Other 1970s and early 1980s dates in EF+ may be available.
  5. Well, that blob on the right is what's known as a "cud". Usually worth about $10.
  6. Wow, that is indeed one of the best of local coinages I've seen.
  7. No rules for me either. I generally skip 400-1500 since it's a "junky" period as far as quality is concerned.
  8. Yeah, probably best to call or email and contact provided to confirm that the show actually does exist. If no contact info is provided, probably not worth your time to go to what is some sort of lame, annoying prank.
  9. Those probably aren't real coins. I've seen some Afircan masks with embedded coins, and all were fantasy pieces. (mismatched reverse/obverse, and wrong metal)

Stamps- Too many commemoratives these days, and even worse is the resale factor- here, new stamps here cost face+7% tax, and when you sell them, you usually get 70% if lucky. At least with coins from circulation you get your full money back. Older used stamps are even worse- any stamp that isn't particulary desireable may net you 20% of catalog value, if even.
  11. Slightly worn as-struck.
  12. VF35, middle arch weak, also band weaknesses, and flat moustache.
  13. Frankly, if I got a roll of mexican small (bronze) cents, I'd be quite happy.

    About copies

Contemporary counterfeit, yes. Moderns- yes, if it something I need for a type set, and the quality is reasonably good, otherwise no.
  15. Interesting, to say the least. These appear to be from early post-WWI Germany before the hyperinflation started.
  16. Just a warning that there's at least several non-existant shows listed on that site. I know from my own experience, and from at least one other.
  17. NICE!! But who messed up the quarter and half??
  18. I meant the last century.
  19. It appears to be a store token of some sort. In the earlier part of this century, many businesses issued their own tokens.
  20. Relatively speaking, it's the highest mintage for a Canadian 50c, and the first since 1986 to cross the 1m mark. The last 1990s onwards typically had mintages of about 300-400k. I try to put them in circulation, along with other 50c, but they never really last...
  21. To add to my comment above, £1 notes for example cannot be generally spent, but can be exchanged for £1 coins at the BoE.
