  1. Looks like a TPG style holder rather than actually TPG. Slab-style holders have been common for US coins for several years now.
  2. Very nice - didn't know they had a seated design on the silver coinage!
  3. Very nice! Was the paper intentionally thin as a sort of anti-counterfeit feature (like how French notes were printed on a crispy paper), or was it just the way it was?
  4. 1960 if I remember the dating correctly.
  5. Nordic gold seems to hold its color quite well - I haven't seen anything EU 10c-50c that are discolored to any significant extent. I have seen some E2s where the core is somewhat dark, though.
  6. They're already practically gone from circulation - a typical roll from a bank these days usually reveals 1-2 at most.
  7. Hang in there and good luck - you're not the only one!
  8. Only time I saw one was a 1980s/90s "repro" (fantasy maybe?) where the back side suggested a 1940s 5P.
  9. The coins are genuine. Is there something in particular that you'd like to know?
  10. Considering that they were redeemable for gold I can't think of a reason why someone would turn it down
  11. Very nice - looks like it has been saved for virtually all of the past several decades and recently spent from a collection.
  12. Welcome to Coinpeople and thank you for a very informative and well illustrated first post!
  13. I don't have any info but just wanted to say that you made a great observation!
  14. How often does one encounter radiate crowns?
  15. Always do. That writing on the crown's holder is one of the few that I recognize.
  16. Great stuff! Dealer #2's always great for being one of the few true numismatists around - someone who deals from ancient to modern, a to z, and knows their stuff to boot!
  17. Getting close to the end! Luxembourg, the Ukraine, Vietnam, Laos, Nepal, Ghana, and Uruguay are probably the easiest ones to strike off as all should be findable in any 50c or less world coin bin. For most of the others, a good challenge would be getting a circulated coin - while it may be tempting to buy a NCLT (this includes BU circulation coinages that are primarily made for sale to collectors in the West) to fill in a spot, I found it very exciting when I was able to come across circulated examples for tougher countries - my Sudan piece, for example, was from the 1970s but only G/VG.
  18. If you can post a clear picture I'm sure someone can provide some assistance.
  19. During the several months after they came out, I successfully collected a set from each of the 12 countries, by trading with collectors in Europe. I recall my excitment in receiving a German set in the mail on Dec. 29 (some countries had released coin packs a bit early so people could get a feel for the new coinage). I haven't added to it, but it's one part of my collection that I'm the most happy about, since each set found its own journey to me, without having passed through dealers.
