  1. If all I have to go on is a scan, I base it mostly on the Serial Number.
  2. Did everyone see the announcement for the new Cayman Islands notes. I talked to a person at the "Cayman Islands Monetary Authority" and they said they had limited matching serial sets. But they believe they are all gone. http://www.cimoney.com.ky/about_cima/about_feed.aspx?id=3726
  3. Yes, that is the one I was thinking of, thank you DreamFLight911. and thank you, Steve D'Ippolito I will put the Netherlands note on my want list.
  4. I would like to get the '57 searies, but it is so hard not find real ones. Most I have seen have been counterfeit. Some day I will get them.
  5. As you said koalas are on “lots of coins.” I do not recall ever seeing a banknote with a Koala on it or even as the watermark. But there may be one out there with a koala hiding in the background, I just do not remember seeing one. I will keep an eye open.
  6. Dave, those are nice notes. I am thinking about getting the 50 and 100.
  7. Bhutan 2006, very vibrant colors. The designs a great.
  8. Here is something you do not see too often, an insect as the main image. I have seen a bee once, but I do not remember from where.
  9. I have not had much time to scan notes in but here is one of my newest favorite notes. Tibet 100 Srang. It is large note with a magnificent design. Someday I would like to figure out what the text says.
  10. Wow MADISON those are very nice indeed.
  11. This is turning out to be the year for Collecting Animal Banknotes. There have been an unusual number of countries announcing that they are releasing new banknotes this year with animals on them. So far the major sets have been: Brazil, Tanzania, Philippines, and Costa Rica. And now Sri Lanka is going to. These look like they will be as collectible as the 1979 set. New Currency Note Series News report There goes my budget this year.
  12. Ox carts and Elephants moving things around the old Laoation style. I would like to see more trains though.
  13. That is a nice set Dave, I am saving up to get a set of my own.
  14. That is a great banknote Saor Alba. I love a banknote that has history written into it. Who or what do you think the lady is suppose to represent?
  15. Hooray! I finally found an uncirculated Zambia 50 ngwee that I could afford, it only took 3 years. Thanks Dave M.
  16. What a great note. Wow that is a hard one to find in any condition.
  17. Beautiful notes, I think the 5 Rupees Mauritius is probably my favorite portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The colour combination and how well it is balanced on the note. Pluss that look she gives.
  18. Nice notes MauMauNotes I like the info that Saor Alba includes in the posts. I think they are great.
  19. I like these Angola notes but they are hard to find and they are a bit pricey
  20. Some more from Tatarstan. 500 and 1000 Rubles.
  21. Nice note Saor Alba. Besides the complexity of the design, are there any other security features? I am always curios about the older notes on how they try to prevent counterfeiting.
  22. jtryka nice notes from Belize. I just received this one. I wanted to get an older version, but this 2006 was more into my budget. Then again the vignette's are the same as the older version and by getting the newer version I was able to save enough to pickup this one. So no complaints here.
  23. These are from Lithuania, 1991. As far as I can see there are no security features, so they could be forgeries.
  24. Just got this in the mail and could not wait to show you. A National Commercial Bank of Scotland Limited, 1 Pound from 1959. There is one just like it from the 60's but it is smaller and the tail on the lion is different.
  25. Hey, do Gryphons count as animals?
