  1. Knowing your collection, I'm sure it's a nice note. I can't see it though...
  2. I honestly wasn't expecting these for at least another week or two. But here is a Nepal 5 Mohru issued in 1951 with King Tribhuvan on front and a tiger on back.
  3. Well, I couldn't pass these up after DF911 posted them. A nice set of Philippine notes with very vibrant coloring. And with them came these notes from Tunisia depicting Hannibal and Syria depicting a bust of Queen Zenobia. Finally, this 1953 Silver Cert came in today as well. All in all a good day at the post office.
  4. Well, now, that is a nice set of Philippine banknotes, isn't it? The animals seem to have an almost 3D appearance to them at first. Congrats on the new notes, D F 911
  5. I remember getting these as a kid in the 1970's and 80's every once in a while in change and the guys in the coin shops had no interest in them. So I spent them - one and all. Today I bought one: A 10 Dollar Silver Certificate. Came in the mail today.
  6. Hooray! My lost note made it anyway!!! As it turns out, the ebay guy ISN"T frmo NYC as he said, but is from Israel, and thus the longer trek. After I bought this, My wife went to the east coast for a week and returned, I bought something from Boston and had it delivered, waited a few days, and then finally this came, and the Israel Post markings made it all clear... Made my day! and I've finally got this note in a decent grade... 'course now they'll be all over the place I'm sure.
  7. THanks for the comments on the duece. I've been wanting one for a while now too. JTRYKA - All those in one place at one time and all for face? That's a great day!!! Congrats.
  8. Huh - Well it appears my note from Sweden that I've searched for for years is not to be mine, and is lost in the mail. Whaddya' do? It happens I guess. Really, though in all my years this is only the second note that's been lost, so... it still sucks. But on a brighter side I did get thi snote today. Not the best, but okay for the likes of me I suppose.
  9. A must have note! I've been searching for a long while for a particular Swedish note and finally found it - bought it - and am anxiously waiting for it.... it's not here yet though... maybe tomorrow. But back to your note above - Actually I'm surprised you hadn't had this one already! Congrats!
  10. Congrats on te new set! It's really nice. I knew you would be showing it off eventually! I wanted to, but I was strong.... I was even strong on the new Cayman Islands set - but for how long???
  11. Well, I had this come in the post today: 50 dollar FRBN in XF
  12. Beautiful note - Congrats! I've been looking for an UNC of this note and of P269 for a while now - no luck - Plenty of mangled ones for sale, but AU or UNC are impossible for me to find.
  13. Two great notes there, S.A. I agree that the Belian note could have had better realism, but it ranks with the notgeld era notes, so only so much could be afforded I guess. That Canadian note is stunning! Absolutely wonderful vignette on that one! Congrats on the new notes!
  14. See323 - Those are simply exquisite! Such beautiful notes in great condition, and solids to boot! Congratulations on the new set!!!
  15. OOps - Double post - See below
  16. Nice Notes, MMMM!I've always liked Bhutan notes. Looks like we both got something new today: New set from Lesotho dated 2010:
  17. Another nice note to add to your collection of ladies. But seeing this made me think – What if we still did this type of vignette in modern culture? What would it consist of? Here in this one we have ladies with beguiling smiles representing liberty and what I think it nationalism, resting amongst items like the cog reflecting industry, bundles and barrels for agriculture, ships and trains with a compass for transportation and trade, and the ancient anvil and sledge hammer for labor and industry. We have liberty still emblazoned on currency still, but in a vignette such as this, but updated, what would we value as emblems of a modern era?
  18. Got these in today. Been looking around for the 500 Dinar on e with Hannibal's elephants on it.
  19. Those certainly are! Simply exquisite.
  20. Madison - Been off hunting big game, have you? Well you've certainly bagged some nice ones there! Absolutely stunning notes! Congratulations!!!
  21. I like that Sudan set. I bought the set mainly because of that 2 Pound music note - but in hand the whole set is actually very nice, and I'm glad I got the set and not just the 2 pound note.
  22. Got this in the mail today. 1914 20 Dollars FRN with a slightly rarer signature combo.
  23. Got this set in today - Brand new issue for Tanzania - Resized smaller and redesigned a bit.
