  1. Well, I just paid $1075, and the previous posts make me feel happy with this price. I am not in a hurry to resell any (or many) of my coins and will add this one to my collection next to 4 kopeks that I am waiting to arrive any day now. I understand that it will probably be challenging to sell it for that price right now, and I know it is a common coin of this strike succession, but I am not after the series of coin strike (yet... one day - one day!...), just trying to collect characteristic representatives of each of circulatory coin strikes in more or less presentable conditions. If that makes sense. I am happy with a common variant for now. I am a collector, not so much a seller, but wouldn't mind to sell some-bodies' collections on eBay for them to raise money for my own collection. Sell only doubles of my coins if I find a better one and if I am not close to collecting that succession by pure chance.
  2. I agree, he has nice coins. Have a few of them in my watch list, they have done a few rounds without being sold. Prices are as they should be in ideal world, but we are imperfect and want to buy them a lot cheaper I keep watching them in case prices drop. Can not comment on the plate coin much... it looks different from some of the plate coins I've seen, but similar, just as they said. It looks old to me though, so I believe it may be an old reproduction / counterfeit coin which is valuable only to collectors of old counterfeits. But it is difficult to be absolutely certain judging by pictures only.
  3. Thank you every one! I bought from this seller previously and he is trustworthy. I am happy with pictures, it looks authentic and I am happy with overall look. I guess bills will have to wait a little, I like it too much to let it slip. Giving our history the seller agreed to drop the price a bit, still it bites over $1000, but reasonable, I think, and as you confirm. Thank you, I'll be buying it...
  4. Seller asks a lot, over $1000... But it is a nice clear over-struck coin... So, I want it on one hand, but it bites on the other...
  5. Can I ask you to help me to value this 1762 10 kop coin please? It's a private sale. I am interested to get it, but don't want to overpay. It seams to be in a reasonably good condition. If you have one to offer, please send me PM. Thank you.
  6. I couldn't believe my eyes!... I've sent my offer, hope it will be accepted... Should make our own grading company should call it DIY-CG (do it yourself coin grading). Buyer e-mails a picture and measurements of the coin to you on e-mail and their own grading version, you send them an empty slab for the coin. коник без ногы... lol
  7. I will gladly accept Novodels at a reasonable price if anyone hates them or just want to get read of them. Can I be next in line? Really nice 2 kopeks!!!
  8. I like Russian Novodels (Official Restrikes of Very Rare coins in MS/UNC by the mints in very limited numbers), but don't like copies / fakes / replicas etc and particularly when they are not marked as such...
  9. What is your point in asking all these questions, one-kuna? What is the point of asking a question at all? I don't see the logic in your questions or what they have to do with Novodels, I'm sorry, may be I am missing your point...
  10. Good points. I guess you can waste a lot of time this way, but the buyer who is a simple "investor" will still find a fake to buy, as they believe that it is a real bargan! A lot of them can not tell the fake from coin even with a catalog, but in their defence I can also say that some fakes are too close to originals and it may be too easy to get fooled if you don't have experience and people to ask for advice. I guess they sell fake GUCI and other brands, and some people buy this stuff even knowing what it is, as it saves them money. I guess if you look at this issue from this angle, the fakes dealers doing the service to these people saving them money. But if you really think about this, it doesn't really make much sense...
  11. Nothing. It was taken off the auction. The only coin they didn't sell this time round... I was almost considering selling one of my copies with them (must admit that I have few). LOL. Although, I am glad to see they had enough sense to remove it...
  12. Can I get your opinion on this 1 Polushka KM 1802. coin? It was sold as Novodel by one of auction houses:
  13. After contacting the seller and getting nowhere I just opened the auction and there is a link there "report this item" i think, just need to look for it on the page. I don't know about other, but you probably right, there may be other fakes there...
  14. What do you mean? Selling counterfeits is wrong if you do not specify that it is a counterfeit. Isn't it?
  15. Oh, Hi Irina, nice to see you joined, welcome! I bought from Flying_Bostonian long ago a few times, but in the last year or so, his prices went up so much. It is a credit to him. Maybe you can get him to help you with coin photographing, if you know him well enough? It is sad to see that some of your coins are misrepresented because of their picture quality. I understand that it is impractical and huge job to replace all pics, but it is a thought and at least some of your prized coins can do with better pics. After all, I bought that coin from you because I put it on watch with an old picture. I saw the other one later, after I bought the coin. Many, and I included, don't buy if they can not see the coin very well. I love both Siberian coins from you. Thank you!
  16. Two Peter I roubles on eBay - obvious fake. Contacted seller, he doesn't care to add to description that it is not an original. Reported to eBay, still they keep the listings: http://www.ebay.com/...E:X:RTQ:US:1123 http://www.ebay.com/...E:X:RTQ:US:1123 Beware!
  17. Must have been a house of the PARA tax collector! I'm sure at some stage they were very common when they became obsolete and people didn't know what to do with them... or the government with leftovers...
  18. This is a really nice one, in "cabinet" patina... Nice find! Congrats!!!The only one I could find on eBay now is this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1760-ORIGINAL-COPPER-COIN-1-4-KOPECK-POLUSHKA-IMPERIAL-TSARIST-RUSSIA-/221129435737?pt=US_World_Coins
  19. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha... So if we buy from him, we'll be paying for his lawyer?
  20. I think this seller mixed up roubles with US dollars Nice try! I wish people were buying this at the price he is asking, I'd sell most of my coins in one go in that case without any back thoughts... http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5574633083&toolid=10001&campid=5335826004&customid=&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&icep_item=290816887558
