  1. The closest I can find to your needs and one that would allow you to start your set without regard to coins being either PCGS or NGC is the NGC Registry "19th Century Series Type Set, Non-Proofs Only - No Gold". It does not include 1900 as part of the 19th Century. But it does not require proof coins or gold coins to complete the set. Another interesting type set is the 7070 No Gold set. It's the equivalent of the Dansco 7070 album. It's a nice fun set to play with. Whatever you decide, I hope that you have fun with it. I don't do the Registry Set thing to be competitive, it's just a nice way to track what I'm collecting and give me easily documented targets.
  2. I do in fact have that coin in both a PCGS holder and an NGC holder. I plan to eventually have a full Roosevelt Set in PCGS and another full set in NGC -- same for Jeffersons.
  3. PCGS Registry requires only PCGS certified coins. NGC Registry accepts either PCGS or NGC or NCS coins. The main set that I'm close to completion on is all PCGS coins. I have an NGC set that is only NGC coins but that has a much longer way to go.
  4. I'm only 8 coins from completing my PCGS Registry Set for Proof Roosevelt Dimes. It used to be possible to have the entire set re-slabbed with a custom label - not sure if you can still do that. It's probably too expensive anyway. Does anyone know the story on this?
  5. Very nice. The CD version has got to be one of the most useful things they've created in a long time.
  6. Great note Dave. The colors are superb.
  7. Curators for sections of the museum would be wonderful.

  8. Since the original posts were in 2007, I doubt that we'll ever get to see the results of this one. I, like you, would really enjoying seeing what grade it was given. I'd go with MS63RB.
  9. Looks like some great information and fun reading there.
  10. So I'm wondering if we've stopped purchasing or stopped posting or both? I personally haven't purchased anything in quite a while (Numismatic Literature wise).
  11. Nice cents and an interesting writeup. The type set cents are very attractive coins. Can you give us a translation of the Chinese characters on the reverse?
  12. 1793 got my vote. It's a beautiful design. Wish I had one.
  13. Got a very nice Christmas Card from Ling and his family. Old friends from IBM days. A really nice family. Got a nice Christmas Card from Jeff Tryka today. A nice friend from here. Thanks Jeff. Got a nice Christmas Card from Mark Stilson. Another nice friend from here. A couple of nice notes for my collection Thanks Mark. I'll scan them later.
  14. Great find Mark. A Frankie and it looks to be in halfway decent shape too. Must have been very gentle soil.
  15. OK. This requires a story. So tell us?
  16. Updates are done. I do not have nor could I find a nice image of a 1793 Half Cent. The image below has a copy of the Liberty head used on the half cent of 1793.
  17. Updates are completed. Give it a read. It's quite interesting.
  18. Very nice coins Mark. This section is now updated. Give it a read and post your coins.
  19. Thanks Alfonso. I now have some info on it. They must have had good eyesight there. The coin is about 50=60% the size of a US dime.
