  1. Since no one posted... Here is a 1730 ruble Congratulations for over 500 posts!
  2. Prices have been rising on a MONTHLY basis - no reason why they would be the same back in 2003.
  3. Orest - a fair warning: I don't really care what you are buying, practicing or such as I don't have the power to stop you. However, sharing information about copyright materials in particular an entire source is highly prohibited and if you keep insisting on bringing this topic up, you are not welcomed to post in this forum any longer. Referencing, scanning a section is fine but NOT an entire book. If you have a large amount of money to buy coins as suggested on other thread, I don't see why you can't afford to buy books. The thing is, authors have to come up with money somehow to fund their research. I don't care how you claim that they are greedy or what so ever - that's in the debates forum if you wish to argue there.
  4. Damaged 1736 ruble Don't have much shocker till 1730 and it's pretty much it for me.
  5. I'll have to post both since I wanted to show my polupoltinnik as well as this thread being a bit slow. 1748 polushka 1747 polupoltinnik
  6. I forgot too. Thanks for reminding me Bobh. Great deal from Blackhawk for the Russian silver kopeks - they are just awesome. Cheers!
  7. 1758 1 kopek Told you that it's going to look ugly
  8. Good day Theonna, Welcome to coinpeople. I had to edit your post as the coinpeople forum requires you to be a forum member here and be on this forum for at least thirty days for buying / selling / trading. This is done so that others can get to know you better - unfortunately there are too much scammers, crooks out there so this is one of the ways to check. Also publishing your real name and number isn't a wise idea as they can possibly use it for bad purposes. I've given it a check on various sources but it seems that it's not a very common coin. The National Bank of Ukraine reports that a mere 5000 coins were struck which further details can be read here http://www.bank.gov.ua/ENGL/Bank_coin/YUV_...sack/Mazepa.htm Your best chance might be to contact some of the big ebay sellers and see if they happened to have that particular coin in stock. It's going to be tough but best of luck to you.
  9. Don't make me pull out my crusty coins to post here. Here is an unusual overstrike coin - 1759 2kopeks over 1755 MMD 1 kopek over 1727 5 kopeks
  10. Vfox, you are 100 years too early!
  11. Completely forgot about this. Got a neat Dannish coin that commemorates an ex-Australian Princess, now Dannish - looks quite neat. Thanks for the giveaway Sisu!
  12. Oops didn't check the thread out. 1766 2 kopek 1766 polushka Not the best quality out there
  13. Good grief Grivna, I have not seen this post for ages and that 15kopek-1zlot of yours is a shocker! Thanks for showing. Mariah, like what Grivna has mentioned, excellent condition can vary from people to people, like Bluesfil example might be excellent to you as you might factor in the age but condition like his might be suprisingly cheap at times like 30USD if you are very lucky. However coin condition like Grivna's is QUITE uncommon so be prepared to pay a high price for it. I personally like the huge 1.5ruble-1zlot as this is a perfect 1 ounce monster coin. (weights 0.1gram less than an troy ounce though) Like like what Grivna said, post a picture and we can give you a better estimate. Welcome to coinpeople by the way
  14. Something I HAD to post: Russia 1788 MM 5 kopeks overstruck in 1762 10 kopeks.
  15. If you don't mind, I have a 1825/4 10 kopek
  16. Japan 1884 1/2sen Russia 1883 coronation ruble Yes, I posted the awful 1884 so that I can post the coronation ruble
  17. Sorry for the late feedback - Banivechi has sent me a batch of super hot aluminum coins from Romania and others. I can't be any happier! Many thanks!
  18. He's got to be joking right? Sekine is auctioning the whole lot?!
  19. I would recommand you to strongly hold on to it redshaddow, if not do proper search. Thank goodness you asked here. Recent Soviet mintsets have been driving like crazy and it should be worth holding onto. For example recent auctions on ebay of the plastic sheet soviet mint set of the following are: (This is what I remembered off the top of my head so don't blame me if I am totally off but I am quite sure these prices are quite right) 1970: 600USD 1973: 150USD 1975: 250USD It's relatively difficult to find early 1970s mintset as well as the 60s with the exception of 1967-69. I have never seen such an external red case like yours so perhaps it makes yours very interesting, if not, valuable. The only main reason why such plastic sheets are more desirable is simply because of the bad packaging in the hard plastic casing - most of the coins in them are toned or have some extremely ugly "metal disease" on it. For example: Perhaps Timofei can comment something about this - all I know is it's definately not something that appeared in the market as long as I know of these years and definately never of any sort with that red case. Congradulations! And for whatever reasons, please accept my apologizes for not welcoming you to the forum.
  20. I don't know where on earth you are getting your sources from but that's absurd. Links will be appericated. No gold coins were minted from 1924 (1923 is a one year type) until 1975 when the chervonets were restruck. There are two different packaging for this, that is the hard case and the soft plastic sheet. I have only seen a 1974 set in hard plastic case but have seen both 1973 and 1975 in soft sheet. Both 73 and 75 are quite expensive and I presume that if a 74 mintset does exist in plastic sheet, it will be rather valuable.
  21. I don't know of any pieces minted in gold and silver back in 1974. However if you are talking about mintset that is minted in base metal, i.e. nickel-copper-zinc and such, then that's another story. Usually around 20USD or so unless it's a unusual varient. (could be more but I can't keep up with all the years)
  22. Elverno, I am pretty suprised with the Italian coin. The reverse looks somewhat similar the 1796 Cipher kopeks! Something I should post in the Russian coin forum (will be borrowing your image Elverno )
