  1. You may want to specify a format for title, description, etc. For example: U.S.A - one cent - 1909 Lincoln VDB
  2. man, why would they make coins with surgical scenes on them? and that's a weird way of doing surgery...
  3. How often do you find a double struck coin that is well centered like this? They didn't use collars, if I understand correctly. Therefore, after the first strike, the coin may have bounced around, the minter would replace it manually, then strike it again.
  4. I always thought the dark carbon spots on the reverse of this were in a funny position. it's like an au natural eagle:
  5. How rare is it? Are you keeping this for your personal collection?
  6. Great point. I guess since only about 25% of coin collectors also collect notes, there hasn't been a big demand for an error note forum/series of threads. Thanks for the suggestion! I'd offer to help start it but I don't have the expertise or time!
  7. I love large cents in that condition. I let myself flip them with my finger to see them spin in the air with the quintessential "ting" that every good coin possesses.
  8. Congrats, Art! You gotta scan the signature for us! He's like the Bono of the coin collecting world!

  10. GORGEOUS, Kornholio. I may have to start looking at the Canadian section of a dealer's inventory for beauties like that. A war time coin too!
  11. I wish everyone had the skill (and determination) you have for photographing coins. The different angles are a refreshing look that give the coin depth.
  12. The Russian looks like a checkers chip. The Hawaiian is handsom. And I thought you already had an Oregon Trail commem. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Wonderful! Love the colors and the design. I didn't know you had an error collection too. What a great link between the two!
  14. Thanks. Why a wedge shape to the punches? A blunt screwdriver could leave a straighter impression. I can't think of an instrument that would impart a wedge/concave shape like those punched legends.
