I found this site from a link on wikipedia whilst trying to discover the silver content of British three and sixpences. I'm a newbie at collecting, with a few bullion coins, some pre-decimal silver coins and some nice old silver bars. I'm also very interested in the history of the Bank of England, especially Abraham Newland (Chief cashier between 1782 and 1807) who is my namesake (and could possibly be an ancestor). I'm lucky enough to work in London and am only a tube ride away from Spinks but my latest vice is trawling the bulk coin lots on ebay of an evening looking for hidden gems.
