Morgan dollar 1894-P going cheap (???)

I just hate it when a reputable dealer with good feedback puts coins like

this in eBay starting at EUR 1. :ninja: Looks like an altered date (1885 -> 1894) and/or MM to me:

L I N K to eBay item

Anyone else have some solid evidence that this is an altered coin? E.g., mintmark removal? Pictures are far too small for me to tell, but maybe someone knows other diagnostic markings that would indicate this is not a genuine coin.

We should try to warn the dealer before it is too late!

If this coin is counterfeit, the seller probably isn't aware of it. His feedback history is great having only one negative score. I found the dialogue of this feedback and using google translator could translate it.

Disgruntled buyer:

Münze war lackiert. War so nicht angegeben. Hätte ich auf Scan erkennen müssen ?

---Coin was painted. Was not indicated so. Would I have had to recognize it on Scan?

Reply of Seller:

Dem Kunden ist die Rücknahme angeboten worden, er wollte sie aber behalten!!!

---The cancelling was offered to the customer, he wanted to however keep it!!!

If the coin is counterfeit after you buy it, the seller may be willing to cancel the sale. I don't know much about coin alterations, especially Morgans, but this seller seems reputable and may understand a cancelled deal. Just my two cents. (pun unintended)
