Guest Stujoe
The first thing I thought when I saw the X and XX Centavos was 'LEGOS!'. Can you tell I have kids? The second thing I thought when I saw the XX was Dos Equis beer.

syzygy
Is that 1776 the accurate mintage date? Excellent piece - I love to see non-US coin correlates to important US dates (hope that made sense .

josemartins
I'm happy that you like those coins Stu! It was a pleasure! Just great, now another peeper is collecting Portugal. Stop it. ! Don't worry, i guess Stu have all the Portuguese coins he ever wanted now! yeah, but not just that.... You bet! Is that 1776 the accurate mintage date? Excellent piece - I love to see non-US coin correlates to important US dates (hope that made sense . Yes, it was minted in 1776, 1777 coins are from a different monarch (Maria I), Portuguese 1776 coins are only made of gold or copper (3,5 and 10 reis), no silver coins were struck that year. They were actually a total surprise! Yep, just me and the person who confirmed me your address knew about it! Great stuff Stu. I thought about legos when I saw the XX too. I wonder if they have XXX centavos? No, but there is a trial for XXXX coins in the XVIII / XIX centuries. Jose
