grivna1726
That 1762 2K overstruck on a denga is great! Never seen one of those! Nor have I. That is a spectacular coin (and no doubt of great rarity)!

gxseries
Very very interesting alex! I really like your overstruck 1762 2 kopek over the denga. Steve or RW Julian, would you happen to have such odd overstrike in your database?
STEVE MOULDING
Very very interesting alex! I really like your overstruck 1762 2 kopek over the denga. Steve or RW Julian, would you happen to have such odd overstrike in your database? This is the first that I recall seeing, though I'll go back and take a closer look. Very nice Alex. STEVE MOULDING
This is the first that I recall seeing, though I'll go back and take a closer look. Very nice Alex. I checked 70 or so different Peter III 2 Kopecks. I don't see any others that are obviously struck on earlier Dengas.
alexbq2
Well a denga is the wrong weight for a direct overstrike into a light weight 2 kopeeks. Mike Shaver's theory is that this coin could have been struck low weight on purpose to even out the sum weight of the coins passing quality control inspection. STEVE MOULDING
Well a denga is the wrong weight for a direct overstrike into a light weight 2 kopeeks.... That's right. The Denga should have been 8.2g, while the Peter IIII 2K should have been 10.24g so it should not have happened.
