thedeadpoint
AHHHHH!!!! ;) Both are GORGEOUS! Especially the gold! But consider that during the Renaissance, the scholars and rich folk at the time collected ancient Greek and Roman coins. Just think, that Celtibarian could have been in a de Medici collection!! I gotta go with the history of that coin! But that gold is soooooooooo pretty. Screw tuition, I want to buy that sucker.

Nightwing
Another contest that could have gone either way, but I did go with Bill's. I think maybe because I was impressed by the quality and age.
gpnyc
Apples & oranges. A good example of why ancient and medieval should have been separate categories. How do you compare these coins?
Drusus
They are both outstanding... this one was real tough but I went with the Celt as I have in every thread it appears...just a great coin... I dont know if they needed to have different sections...I know my ancients didnt make it as far as this Medieval coin so obviously Medieval stands a chance against ancients...I think it just happened to be up against an exceptionally striking ancient this round. In fact in the other thread the Henry VI is beating a very nice ancient greek coin as I type this

Sir Sisu
Difficult choice. I like them both, but for different reasons. The denarius is the apple of my eye, while the noble is the orange of my ...err... mind? The apple rhyme sounds better, and thus follows my vote.
