kisenish
It is a fake, without any doubts. Letters are completely out of style, profile of Nicolaus I. is very low. This is a very crude fake, stay away from it.
kisenish
I would add - it is a cast fake
grivna1726
I would add - it is a cast fake I also doubt authenticity. This coin has an unusual and suspicious-looking depression at the start of "1859" and a blem (raised blob) on the back of Nicholas' neck. Compare it with this coin (no blem or depression) recently sold by Fritz Rudolf Künker Münzenhandlung Auction 122, Lot 3210:

Agreed. To which I would add the doubling at the nose and the lettering at the left on the obverse. RWJ
Scottishmoney
Curiously differing opins on the authenticity of this piece.
grivna1726
Curiously differing opins on the authenticity of this piece. I don't like it. I think it is bad and would like to see the edge as well (because I think I know what I would find there).
bobh
Agreed. To which I would add the doubling at the nose and the lettering at the left on the obverse. RWJ The rims look too thick, too (IMHO).
