  1. Not the best condition, but 1575. I like Hungarian Denars, there are a lot of early dates. Ben
  2. I'm out of it again until 1536, then I have 1533, 1529, and 1515. Do we include 2 digit dates and dates in Roman numerals? I'll be at the FUN show in a few weeks so we'll see if I can find anymore. Ben
  3. I think we can get there. I was looking at a 1607 coin on vcoins the other day, but it is a bit too much for me this week! Someone is bound to have something! I have a number of coins from the 1500s myself so once we get there I'll have a few contributions to make. Ben
  4. Trying for a better pic of the 1609 Liard, hope that it works!
  5. Here is a 1609 at last. Spanish Netherlands, Albert & Elizabeth, I think from Tournai. 1 Liard. I don't know why it won't display larger. Do I have to post it somewhere else and link the URL to get a bigger image? Ben
  6. Well this thread seems to have dropped off, found it by accident while googling to see if I could find out when the first dated (as in CE, not Regnal dates) coins were struck. Anyway, here is my oldest dated coin, a 1515 Salzburg Pfenning
  7. My earliest dated coin is a 1515 Salzburg Pfennig. I'm not sure when dating actually began (of course regnal dating goes way back but I'm only counting our modern dates. Here is a link to the Pfennig: http://www.tantaluscoins.com/coins/34615.php Ben http://circulatedcurrency.blogspot.com/
  8. Broke down and ordered a 1609, hope it gets here soon! Ben
  9. It may be silly, but I write occaisionally about what I find in my pocket change here: http://circulatedcurrency.blogspot.com/ Ben
  10. My latest find from circulation was a 1942 US nickle found at the local coffeeshop! Not bad for in my change. I'm writing about my change, odd thing to do but if you are bored.... http://circulatedcurrency.blogspot.com/
  11. Well I went to the local coin show this weekend hoping to find a coin from 1609 or nearby. Alas, I bought a 1515 Salzburg pfennig, some George III cartwheel pennies, and some Canadian tokens from the early 1800s, but nothing at all was to be found from 1609! Bumping the topic back up anyway, perhaps someone else has one? Ben
  12. I've never found a thing in the coinstar reject bin but I do keep checking. Sooner or later I will find something! Ben
  13. I'm still waiting for 1536! That is my first dated coin in this range. Most of my collection are ancients! Ben
  14. Well I can jump in when we get back to 1536. I just don't have much modern coinage! Ben
  15. Well, no pics yet but a nice 1912 S Barber quarter, a nicer 1906 O half and a rough but rare sestertius of Marcus Aurelius with the Temple of Mercury on the reverse.
