  1. 1528 Uniface Pfennig from Styria, Austria Now I may be out for a few years again!
  2. Wonderful coins! 1529 anyone? I have one on the way from Europe but that may take a bit!
  3. Not in great shape, but 1532. A uniface pfennig from the Austrian state of Carinthia I have a 1531 but I'll wait at least a day to see if anyone else wants to jump in! This thread is helping me build my collection of coins from the 1500s! I have a few more on the way now and a few more lined up to post.
  4. And 1533! Anyone able to help with attribution? This was sold as Salzburg, but is not. Now I have this attributed to Upper Austria, aka, Österreich ob der Enns 1 Pfennig, thanks to those that assisted!
  5. And onward into the past! Here's 1534.
  6. Still stuck at 1536? Looking for 1535! Ben
  7. (15)37 Matthaus von Lang Wellenburg (1519-1540). Statesman and Archbishop of Salzburg - 2 Pfennig 1537, uniface Zweier. silver 15mm These had the year fully dated until 1536 when they dropped the 15, so the last ones minted were dated just 36, 37, 38, 39, 40. Here is 1536, another with just a 2 digit date.
  8. 1539 is posted scroll up! Now 1538! Ben
  9. I have to wonder as well, to me, it looks like the date says 1514 and the 0 is perhaps an o. Of course that would mean the attribution is off and not having seen the coin in hand I could be completely off base. (I hope I am, or we need to revisit 1540!) Ben
  10. And moving on to 1539. Ferdinand I of Hungary again. These little coins go back at least to 1500. Ben
  11. I agree, I think the next one I have on hand is 1538, I have a good dozen or more going on to 1515. Little is in sequence though. I don't know why we can't get at least through the 1500s, though it may take us a while!
  12. Ah, love the Hungarians, I just need to take a pic...
  13. Here we go, Ferdinand I of Hungary, 1546. Always good to go through the denars! I think I'm out until 1536 now.
  14. Wow, it has been a while since I've stopped by and we are still moving! I have a 1536 a waiting. I'll look through some of my Hungarian denars to see if I have anything that will help now, I think most are a few years ago though.
  15. Took my daughter grocery shopping and had to check, found a 1960 dime! Woohoo!
  16. Waiting for 1557.... we keep on going!
  17. Almost but not quite 1567! Any chance someone has a definitive '67?
  18. Well time to get this going again. Another so so Hungarian denar, from 1571.
  19. I collect: Roman women on coins, about half of them are fairly easy, then it gets challenging. Archetechural types, Coins from the city of Stobi, whatever is a good bargain. Coins issued by Domitian, coins of the Severan dynasty. I don't shy from contemporary counterfeits, but I try to avoid modern ones!
  20. Are we stuck again? I'd like to post 1571, but I'm holding out hope that we will get a 1573 so we keep in sequence without a break!
  21. Ancient coins, early dated coins, US large cents, US Indian head cents, French type set, Canadian large cents, that about covers it. Well, ancients I mostly go for archetextural reverses, empresses (and other women) and the Severan dynasty. You can see my recent purchases here: Recent coins
  22. I've always arbitrarily drawn the line at 1600 or milled coins, but I would certainly feel comfortable with 1500 to the present for modern.
  23. I've got 1571 waiting, but I will hold off for someone with 1573. I've got a good number of Hungarian denars from this era, then we get into my Salzberg Pfennigs. At last we are in a century I can help with!
