  1. Wow! That's the 'pokerchip' isn't it? Nice design and one I hardly get to see! Thanks for posting it up!
  2. That's like what, the third solid you've found in circulation? and this one a star note! How lucky can you get with those???? I'm jealous!! I've never even found a banknote with a serial number that's even remotely interesting
  3. Ouch! That's not a good thing! I thought she got lost in the mail, but she was being a dutiful nurse and kept you company! Here's hoping you get better soon!
  4. Thanks! I saw them and jumped on them as the seller I got them from usually has the lowest prices for new notes like these. I was afraid that if I missed them they'd be too much elsewhere.
  5. Wow! DaveM and Madison - you've really got some nice notes there! The 50 marks from Dermany and the 500 note from 1935 Yugoslavia are not too commonly seen.
  6. The mailman was nice today and brought me a fractional banknote: 10 Cents from 1863. This is my second fractional currency banknote and I thought that some others might like to see a size comparison of it.
  7. New Samoa notes - Very bright and colorful! They have low serial numbers, but the 10 adn the 20 Tala banknotes are the same serial numbers... kinda' neat I guess.
  8. I think you can count on that - It might take some time, but it should be well worth it! Good luck!
  9. Wow! My first thought was: "Oh good Lord! You're insane!" Haha But then it hit me...Pow!... Once you've got that done, you'll have an awesome set unlike what 99.9% of the collectors of banknotes have done. So now, I say "Cool! - Very cool!" I'll have to keep an eye on your progress!
  10. You have to study. Hard! No - just search for them on Ebay. Makers of Money handling machines as well as printers use testnotes to check out their stuff. Some are just boring paper, but others are quite phenomenal in their designs. Most are dirt cheap, but some others can fetch up into the 100s.
  11. Unfortunately no. I looked on a couple of other sites that deal with test notes, and they have no information as to their printer. Arcatech.com has no info either. But, here's a consolation for you: Rwanda banknotes! - Yay!
  12. Well, I saw them and liked them and so I got them: Testnotes from ArcaTech Systems, a company that manufactures cash handling machines.
  13. They're not expensive - check Ebay and you'll see quite a few for sale and 'buy it now'. I've yet to get one myself... Actually, until I read that article I linked to you, I thought that they were some sort of coupon issued for the customs houses or something... I never knew they were actually used as banknotes. hehe Oh, well, you can't know it all!
  14. Sounds like it was likely a Customs GOld Unit, which is explained nicely in this Wikipedia link: CGU Link
  15. Got this one in today... Not as pretty as some others, but still a nice note to have. It is a 100 Tiao Chinese Provincial note from 1928.
  16. Nice set of new notes Naidu54! The Laos notes have some nice scenes on them - they are the style that is very intricate and the more you look at them, the more you see in them, especially in the border areas aside from their already attractive vignettes.
  17. I really like these style of Chinese banknotes. They are local or private banknotes and they generally have an intricate vignette to study. They are however, because of their nature - being local banknotes - almost impossible to research. I've found a little information on a few of the notes in my collection, but it is pretty scant. Perhaps one day I'll find a book in English about Chinese banknotes. Until then, it's full of mystery and imagination... perhaps it's better that way!
  18. I was pretty happy to get this one today - Cameroon P-10 1962 100 Francs
  19. Oh- No Way! That is incredibly lucky, especially as 8's are lucky numbers and are the most sought after. You should post it up here for us to see! And speaking of seeing it, I bet See323 is gonna like that note a lot too! Congrats on the great find!
  20. Got this one in the mail today. A 1942 25P note from Egypt. It's a small note, but I really like it.
  21. Yep - DeOrc has it right. They tie ropes around their legs and go for it. This is evidently where Bungee Jumping got the idea from - - but this isn't exactly bungee- it's only vines. Plus, I've heard that these guys actually hit the ground below. While I'd never try that, I did try bungee jumping a number of years ago. - I seriously doubt I'd do it again though. Link
  22. Here's a little something that I got in the mail today.
