  1. My earliest find in a while, a 1919 Wheat in change today.
  2. The earliest large cents were a bit larger yet, my 1794 is about 3 grammes heavier than the 1797.
  3. The Vrenelli series of 20ff coins are one of my favourite European gold series. I was collecting these by date at one time, before I sold them all off. Thanks for posting the link, next visit will be to your USA collection.
  4. 1969-C $10 bill last night. Oldest tenner in quite awhile.
  5. Well, if you really want to get technical, the first monarch of the UK as it exist now with the addition of N. Ireland would have to be George III. The Union with Ireland was effected in 1801.
  6. I really like the Evreaux example, but all are nice
  7. In the span of two days, a 1945 cent, 1949 and 1952 Nickels.
  8. France and Germany now have one of the strongest political and military alliances in Europe, what a positive change from the past:) Actually similar to what was going on in Germany with notgeld issues during the WWI era, many French localities issued paper and metallic tokens. I have some from Lille: Curiously I purchased these in Munich, Germany!
  9. This is a long time ago now, back in 1993, but there was a coin dealer near the Koln Dom when I was there. I was too busy drying off from getting soaking wet in a sudden thunderstorm to go visit though
  10. 1940 Canada GVI cent, in change and not a roll find
  11. I like the last design too, and maybe by then I will be able to buy coins again(wife would like to execute me for latest purchase)
  12. All these acquisitions, I have to think you got Bunny disease
  13. Gees it was not but 10 years ago you could get Russian coins on the cheap, even BU Tsarist coins, now it is practically impossible. The best was buying coins during the 1990-91 in the USSR, stuff that had been squirrelled away for years started popping out of the woodwork.
  14. Incredibly, a Malaysia 1 sen from 1996, a refugee from afar. This thing is smaller than a dime, but masqueraded as a cent for a while.
  15. President Bush coughed up the pretzel instead of choking on it, on and on and on.
  16. The Leopold the Hogmouths of their days
  17. The cabinet in the Monnaie de Paris museum is well worth a very long visit. The first time I went I spent literally hours in there. The second time I was rushed through by my wife, with some litany about spending too much money, time etc there.
  18. Sorted through the coins in the ashtray of the car, found a 1968-S Nickel.
  19. Even with the Napoleon Medal, one can draw very appreciable parallels with ancient themes, and the depictions of the subject. Obviously that they were influenced by ancient coins
  20. Wasn't the Queen Caroline medal in a PCI? I recognise it. Thanks for sharing these, beautiful pieces all.
  21. 1935 and 1941 Lincoln cents. The coin finds for Sunday.
