    you have what is called a post mint damaged coin, either it is well worn or someone coated it with something after it left the mint

    a photo would help in seeing what you are talking about but it sounds like someone coated with mercury or something

    good idea ordering a coin book ,coin books are a good research tool to use when one needs to sort out valuable and not so valuable coins

    best advice is to either send them into a grading company or take them to a coin expert, they can tell you more about those coins

    hard to tell with the scans, makes the coins look washed out

    welcome to coinpeople, , seems most places deal in bulk orders on such things to make some profit, , maybe online would be the best bet i guess

    from what i can tell from the photos it's a 2001 New York state quarter quarter, looks well used and that is all , as the photos are not showing anything beyond what the naked eye can see

    can't tell by the photos which aren't clear enough to see anything

    can't tell with the photos, need to be clearer and a close up of the area or areas you want us to see

    red flags not graded by any grading company raw with that said i'd pass

    10 cents and the coin itself looks to be post mint damaged coin means someone messed with the coin after it left the mint not a error coin
