  1. I'm surprised that my favorite series has the most votes!
  2. Fascinating, SM!! I just spent a 3 day weekend with 6 cousins from Salt Spring Island! I need to email them and see if they can fetch me some of these!
  3. Interesting points, Mr. Marotta. I'll comment tomorrow when my eyes are fresh and my mind sharper.
  4. Both awesome notes that show why banknotes are so fun to collect.
  5. I really like that design but I wonder if it could be improved with a polygonal or circular medal, or a polished background, or something else.
  6. yeah yeah... i thought about that but I KNEW I was forgetting to mention something when I finally posted. Thanks though!
  7. I knew about the mint wanting to regulate the clipping, but isnt that one reason round coins are preferred? To preserve the integrity of the coin (for counterfeiting purposes too)? And how... magnificent... would it be to find a 1222 halfpenny or farthing? Fascinating about the mint exchanges/fees, too. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Oh, ikaros! You skipped! My heart is broken!
  9. 1949! Whats the latest year that these medals were produced in such a nice manner?
  10. Jeeez... I had no idea you were into the DCAMs and 69ers. Great nonetheless.
  11. Interesting... A mint that purposely disfigures a coin to be released into the public! YOC, who would be the mint's customers? Who directly received the mint's products?
  12. All great! But I prefer the ones with the pretty Swiss ladies
  13. All the more reason I think there should be a coin care/storage dedicated subforum. I'd love to see the out-of-the-box ways people store their coins, ways other than flips or slabs.
  14. For my Peace dollars, I have them in hard plastic individual cases. Makes them a little easier on the eyes than plastic flips or slabs... and they're cheap!
  15. Woo!! What a project! I can't wait to see you at the end!
  16. Those are definitely on my list. Great catch.
  17. Fantastic, Zohar! The last two really capture what a shooting fest seems all about (I've never been to one, so I can only assume).
  18. Great job, Canada! Was that a circulating set?
  19. The reverse of that Canada note is impressive. It captures the cold, vast expanse really well.
  20. Went through change in my desk today: 2010 dime 2009 dime 1970-S nickel (I love finding S's) A Panamanian Balboa was given to me by a coworker.
  21. His head reminds me of both sides of this:
  22. Testoons? Weird. Fascinating, Clive. Thanks for the answer.
  23. Still at the grocery store? It's a gold mine and I"m so jealous
