  1. Hey! The coin looks like a vintage coin with a historical value to it. Why don’t you check out with a numismatist who will evaluate the coin and if he has the series of this coin then you will get a value for it, else Good luck!!!
  2. Hey! That’s a neat piece you have there. I have not seen something so beautiful before. I would like to show this to my aunt, who is an avid coin collector and who may throw some light on this. However, you should speak to professional collectors on this.
  3. As far as I have heard, counter stamps are a dream come true for coin collectors. For years they have been found in dealers’ junk boxes and now it’s making a comeback by collectors who have the drive to gather these as relics of a bygone era, as well as understand the secrets associated within the often mysterious words and phrases stamped into their surfaces.
  4. Congratulations!!! You found it out yourself. This Arabic coin is indeed a beautiful possession. I particularly admire the elegance of the coin design.
  5. The condition of the coin does not seem very interesting and guess you would be on the receiving end if you wish to sell them. If I were you, I would reinvest some of the amount in silver coins as the silver price is at a low right now
  6. Well, you definitely have an interesting forum out there and I loved the details that you have shared about the Manchukuo coinage. Not at all familiar about them. Thank you.
  7. Woah! I loved this coin, especially the finesse of the coin and the history attached to it. I would like to possess it as part of my coin collection and bullion investment.
  8. A coin according to me speaks about the past and it’s more like a historical document and you get to know of people who bought and sold them. I love coins that are both collectibles and relics of historical value and let me not forget the coins that glitter as well, the ones made up of gold and silver!!!
  9. Oh wow indeed!!! Where did you manage to get hold of these and how sure are you that it’s a roman coin dated 17th century? Whatever, I’m impressed especially as I’m a photographer who loves anything unique.
  10. My feelers on this are if the gold-backed money comes back it will disrupt the normalcy of the U.S. economy for sure.
  11. Look out for creating a series. For instance, you decide to collect series of the Silver Peace Dollar. When you have Peace Dollar for each mint date from 1921 to 1935, you have completed the series. You could also look out for key date coins. These coins are those which are either last in the series or have a specific combination of the mint date and mint mark which is rare to find.
  12. Would love to see gold at $300 again, but this would mean that gold prices depreciate about five times than what they are now. This is not quite likely to happen. In the recent price plunge, gold dropped to about one and a half times nearing to $1,300 an ounce. The bargain hunters or those who buy on the dips bought physical gold at a record level, and reduced further possibilities of price decline.
  13. Coin shops are a good place, obviously. Joining communities of numismatists on FaceBook, G+ and other social networking sites will allow you to reach out to genuine collectors and their collection.
  14. As for now I haven’t come across any article or video that clearly tells what’s going on in the silver market. Since the economic fundamentals don’t support the sharp fall in silver prices, my guess is that there is some serious manipulation going on in the silver market.
  15. I believe it's very rare that a mint can make a mistake in minting coins. And in case you do not have such coins, and you want to sell, then I guess these coins will fetch you a higher amount in comparison with the ones that are minted perfectly.
  16. The Uzbekistan coin’s reverse has such an intricate design! I believe it’s the huma bird. It reminds of the heraldic eagle motif on some antique American coins, German Mark and Austrian Ducat.
  17. It is said that only forty pieces of the 1916 Canadian Governor General Gold Medal had ever been made. I particularly love the design of this gold medal, it’s so lovely.
