I sold it on eBay with little knowledge of the value other than the grading it had on the booklet it came in and the suggested retail in coin books. So, your challenge? What was the grade, and how much did I sell it for? I don't understand why you don't just tell us. The picture load takes forever, and the magnification is not worth the load time. Even on High speed cable! I guess AU58 and $1200, not that the grade makes any difference once the price is agreed on. I've got say, hearing I could have sold it for $4000, I wish I hadn't have sold it yet. The booklet it was in graded it as an MS63, and I sold it for $1750 on eBay. I'll confess that the thread was to see if I was taken, but I was originally only looking for $750 from it, so I think I made off well. gpnyc Posted December 5, 2007 Report Share Posted December 5, 2007 I know you don't have the coin in hand anymore so you can't check but all those lumps on the lower obverse and, the particularly large one above the A in STATES point to the coin being counterfeit. They look raised in the image, which is impossible on a genuine coin, but that may be an illusion. Also the color looks way off but that may also be your lighting. The $3 gold is a heavily counterfeited series and whoever gave you $1750 on an uncertified example is brave. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
