  1. Got an abaz recently, harshly cleaned but it's not like there's a lot of choice out there. Sort of have a denomination set in silver now but not in copper (missing puli). Also have a denomination set for the Irakliy coins with the Russian eagle, and managed to gather all but the largest denomination for the 1191 crimean coppers.
  2. A very nice Irish(?) family appears to be for sale on eBay, and the price seems reasonable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271024909363
  3. Congratulations on this well deserved recognition by the numismatic community!!!
  4. For 1796 AM 10 kopeeks the edge should be rope. If this is an overstrike of a 1796 10 kopeeks this coin should have at least some trace of over edging from the 1796 AM 10 kopeeks to the recoined "1796" AM 5 kopeeks with reticulated edge.
  5. This stuff really does look like letters, but I can't picture how these traces relate to the 1796 design. What does the edge look like? Any traces of a rope edge under the grid?
  6. Yep, it is free. I just bought the 2012, 7th edition since it has some updates. I don't recall if I have your mailing address. Send it to me via messaging, and I'll ship the catalog to you next week.
  7. Does anyone need a 2011 Wolmar catalog (price reference), 5th edition? If you're in the US, I can media mail it.
  8. I'm confused as to who's who in this thread, but I sort of like this "audience participation" approach from Sincona. It would be annoying if these were just spam posts, but as these people are very responsive I feel they do go beyond simple advertisement.
  9. Number 5: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5574633083&toolid=10001&campid=5335826004&customid=&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&icep_item=290738429923 Note the coin is once again in a very poor state.
  10. I would agree with that, and most likely my suspicions were raised to the other 3 coins because this one showed up first. But I find this influx of low quality 1916 coins very strange.
  11. Here are the other 2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261031553891 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5574633083&toolid=10001&campid=5335826004&customid=&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&icep_item=320909665788
  12. This is a pretty scarce coin, but within the last 2 months this is the fourth coin that I see on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160836744840 What's surprising is that they are all in that state, which is strange for a coin that did not spend much time in circulation. Here's another one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320912181665
  13. Thanks for the update. Why is lot 500 described as a Novodel?
  14. I can also note that I'm the underbidder. Did you win it? If so - congrats!
  15. I saw that auction, and I noticed the mistake in attribution. But I did not notice the variation in spelling. I bought mine on eBay, probably a year ago for about the same price. Now I'll keep my eye out for a German version
  16. Not that I'm aware of. I know they come gold and silver plated.
  17. I thank Sincona for publicizing this auction, and for providing images for coins. I can only wish that the images were of better quality/resolution and I would suggest that coin description would be wiki style. I think that many collectors would likely help in attributing coins, and they would do it more accurately.
  18. You missed the silver kopeck blowout sale! http://www.ebay.com/itm/300664474100 http://www.ebay.com/itm/370587257831 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300666167859 http://www.ebay.com/itm/230749574915 http://www.ebay.com/itm/370589149967 http://www.ebay.com/itm/230751671759 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300663097414
  19. I guess you can't do much, maybe you'll have better luck on next listing - 3rd time's the charm! But presumably if the buyer backs out of too many deals: "Excessive unpaid items on a buyer's account may result in range of actions, including limits or loss of buying privileges."
  20. Coincidentally a fake 1913 rouble was sold around the same time, I hope that seller has trouble collecting the money: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160829431332
  21. I do not know the details, but I know you can open a case against bidders who do not pay. Ebay will go after them, not sure how.
