I did win some wonderful large pennies. Can't wait for them to arrive.
-
Too late for me to buy them now. :bsad: :bsad: :bsad: :bsad:
There are still some on, finishing this Sunday.

-
A few more finish soon.

Welcome!

The series which the 1983 note belongs to became non-legal tender in 2012, eleven years after it was withdrawn. The central bank are no longer obliged to exchange it and probably won't make a special exception for such a low value. This is assuming it's the more recent one featuring Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, the 50kr note featuring Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson stopped being eligible for exchange in 1999.

A very warm welcome, Thomas! Good to see another Englishman on board, and a metal detectorist too!

Last few hours, CoinPeople!

Good luck with the bidding, there's less than 24 hours on many of the auctions.
Your chance to own coins like this:

I've just added another 120+ auctions, take a look here.

Good luck, DreamFlight911!

Pat, does this look familiar?
It's an early 19th century sulphur cast I've picked up.

The complete coin in the above picture is a local die issue of Henry VI, York ecclesiastical mint. Mullet or cinquefoil by crown and quatrefoil in centre of reverse. Most likely Rosette-mascle or Pinecone-mascle issue.
The more complete of the two shortcross pennies has the moneyer Henri on London mint. Looks like a John but is too beaten-up to be sure from these photographs.
I hope this helps.

Indeed, it's a common Venetian soldino. Here's a recently sold example.

A warm welcome to you!

Not really, the given values are 10 US$ for the copper Ryal and 20 US$ for the Girsh, those prices seem to be somewhat random but could have been issue prices.
Jose
Thank you so much for your help, Jose!

They're both modern fantasies, the Bruce (unusual world coins) references are: XPn1 for the Saudi Girsh and X1 for the Hejaz Ryal
Jose
Thanks for the infortmation, Jose - I suspected as much. Is there much value to them?
-
Thanks for the link, Blackhawk. Is that really an accurate reflection of its value?

Please take a look at my offerings on eBay. From British gold to Yemeni sets to Canadian silver.

These two Arabic coins are still sealed in their mint packaging but I'm not entirely sure what they are, when they date from or where they're from.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

I'm not sure about new coins but there is a dedicated set and a £1 coin that has been issued. The set can be seen here, vastly overpriced if you ask me.

Hi your information has been brilliant most helpful. Thank you. I will put mine on e-bay and mention the details you gave me. would I put it under error coins ?.
It would probably fare better in the Exonmuia>Medals category with 'Error' noted in the title.

From the sound of what you're describing the Edward VII and Alexandra coin is indeed a commemorative souvenir token as those were rather common coin types especially in Great Britain
Indeed. It sounds like an ascension medal/token.
