I am more of a buyer than a seller of coins but it does depend on where you are intending to sell your coin. I know here in the United States and in Britain among other places www.ebay.com is a good start... from personal experience in seeing coins sold the ones that do the best (sell for the most) are the ones that have good photographs and demonstrate a proper amount of research on the coin so that collectors who look for certain things in coins (such as silver, the Netherlands, rare modern coins, etc.) will be able to find them in a search. A descriptive title helps too. I am sure there are a number of other more experienced collectors on this site who have experience selling who might help.

The "z" is actually a mark to signify silver. You are right about only 157 of them being made and they came in a set. According to the NG Coin website, the Gulden is worth US$2,250 in uncirculated condition and the 2 1/2 Gulden is worth US$1,800 uncirculated. Of course the real value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

I was only joking around about the photos of the coins... I just enjoyed looking at the photos. One of these days hope to either make enough money to buy up stuff like this or have the luck to come across them cheap. But photos will do for now.

lol I was thinking the medal you were referring to was the medal in which there was the guillotine scene on the back of it thanks this is definitely an outlyer in my collection but an awesome addition nonetheless

Hey there That particular Mainwaring medal referenced (Hennin 472) is actually a different medal. I recall reading some old numismatist journals that reference the particular medal I have as Mossop... while most of his medals would be signed with his full last name, there are at least a couple of medals attributed to Mossop that have as their subjects French Revolution relatd themes and are signed "WM". As you can see, it is in rough shape but I got it for a really good price. Ah yes the Coinstar machines... my dad used to work at Winn Dixie and every time we went to pick him up from work I would run by the CoinStar. You'll be amazed what you can find. I recall finding a silver dime, Bahamian money, UAE money, etc. Quite the haul for a kid.

Hey everyone New to the group and new to the hobby but have been able to learn a few things here and there thanks to the internet. One coin I recently acquired was a 1795 Louis XVI mourning medal. It was a copy done by William Mossop and it was an exact copy of a more well known medal done by Ferdinand Loos. This medal is in tin, or "white metal" as one source described it. The coin itself is not in the best condition, probably in the G or AG range. I am more of a collector of US and foreign coins, so medals and other exonumia are not up my alley so to speak. One question I would have is how rare is this coin? It seems like I have found more descriptions of it online than photos. Also, how valuable would this be if in better condition?
