Here is the 100 peso with the locomotive:
-
I bought it on eBay for the ironic price of $17.76, and the exchange rate value is about $15.57, so not too bad. I bought the 100-peso too, will post it when it arrives.

Sweet $5 FRN Dave! Here is a bicentennial note I received in the mail today:
-
Cool find bobh! I remember when I was in Geneva for a weekend back in 1995, I got a 1946 10-rappen coin in change which I saved. For the 1967 50-rappen, isn't that the same as a silver 1/2 Franc?

Indeed it is! I have no way of authenticating it, but I looked on eBay at other Danny Thomas autographs, and it matches up pretty well so I think it's genuine. Apparently from my conversation with the dealer, Danny Thomas and Bob Hope both autographed a lot of dollar bills, my guess was this was done in the late 1950s or early 1960s when his career was in high gear with "Make Room for Daddy." Just thought it was an interesting note/autograph combo for a very little amount of money.

Picked these up at a local show today, also got back in change a series 1953 $2 bill!

Sandra is always a swell person to deal with, got a super wonderful set of Canadian coins and even bonus coins! Thanks!

That is sweet. One of my favourite national designs.
The $20 of the same vintage is pretty sweet too, kinda reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies...

Love the railroad 100 peso commem Scottishmoney, you'll have to share your source on that one! I just won this one in the Lyn Knight auction a few minutes ago:
-
Anything dated before 1971 I tend to keep!
-
I spend halves pretty regularly, usually have a couple in my pocket any given day to spend.
-
Is that a 1965 1-rand gold proof? That was like a tenth of an ounce wasn't it?
-
At the bank yesterday I bought $5 worth of halves from the teller tray, they looked new, and sure enough, there were 8 2006-D and 2 2006-P, mintage of only 2 million and 2.4 million respectively.

Well, I used to volunteer on the SP&S 700 (www.sps700.org) but now just limit myself to looking, though I have a ton of model railroad stuff, just no layout, as it's all in boxes!

Fedex man brought me something from up north today!

THat has to be one of the prettiest columbian halves I've ever seen!

What mintmark was used for manilla?

I have a $100T from Zimbabwe, I got it on eBay, I think I paid maybe $5 for it. Those are the last notes, as I recall after they issued them, the Reserve Bank changed the rules and now allows citizens to transact in other currencies, so obviously no one is opting for the $Z anymore!

got a DC quarter back from the pop machine at work today.

Very cool examples Dave!

Art won some recent auctions, always a pleasure to deal with this perfect gentleman! Glad you like the Bahamas set!

I just got this one from the last Lyn Knight auction, my first McKinley! And my first PCGS graded note. I must admit I prefer the PMG holder to the PCGS, as this holder just seems flimsy while the PMG holder is more rigid. This note is graded VF 25, as a mule, and was from the Rickey Collection. Not sure what that means, so if anyone has any idea, let me know!

I know this is not a US coin, but a friend from the NGC forum got me hooked on this one, a Polish 10 zloty commemorating Joseph Conrad, a stunning design, especially the reverse, if only the US Mint could be this creative!

I haven't seen the Spanish note, can you tell me more?
