That Frida Kahlo note just freaks me out, so I'll pass on that but what does the new $1,000 look like?

Dave, very nice Michigan note, I love the train on it! Speaking of which, the 2010 Mexican 100 peso commemorative with the locomotive is polymer if I remember correctly, but the 200 peso commemorative with the angel de la independencia statue image is paper. Both of them are very beautiful notes!

Nice gold cert Dave!

I found a dime and a penny on the floor of the parking ramp today...and Dreamflight has to be the luckiest finder of all! He's had some really impressive ones in this thread!
-
Nice find! I have a bunch of the $5 coins which contain about 1.2 ounces of silver each, but the entire set is one of the most interesting I've seen, with different tropical images and different shapes and sizes of coins.

Nice gold cert! Very pretty dave!

It's a neat series, I think I have the $2, $5 and $10 of the bird notes.

Nice ones! I am like Finn, and began collecting Jeffersons early, and had completed an entire set from circulation with the exception of the 1950-D. I've added the proofs and upgraded a lot since then, but still a fun set to collect for face value!

Nice set! I have 1, 5, 10, 100 and 500 rupee notes that a friend of mine brought back for me from a trip to Nepal but mine still have the king on them, but the backs sure look familiar!

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue...

I seem to recall posting about Saor Alba's 1934 $50 bill, but I can see neither my reply nor his original post now, what happened?

Nice LGS $50!

got a 2010-P nickel today!

Last week I got 2 new shield cents, and ironically enough I got a wheatie and a memorial on the same day as one of them, all three types in one day!

I really should check these givaway forums more often! This was a neat one and I totally wiffed on it! DOH!

Got this one in the mail yesterday:

Got these two beauties in the mail today, along with a bunch of BU 1930s and 1940s quarters for my Dansco.

I got this one in the mail today, it's been cleaned, but I've been looking for a 1820/19 overdate for a while.

At the coin club meeting tonight, I paid too much for a group of foreign notes:
1999 Jamaica $20
1951 Bulgaria 5 Leva (x2)
1951 Bulgaria 10 Leva
Brazil 100 Cruzeiros
1987 Peru 500 Intis (x7, including 2 groups of 3 consecutive notes)
And some reproduction notes and "disney dollar" type notes from Colonial Williamsburg
I paid $5 so somebody please tell me I wasn't way off!

Thanks for that, looks like an image I saw on wikipedia, so I guess this is not a commemorative. As for the polymer vs. paper cutoff, 100 pesos does not seem high enough, after all that's only $8, and a 200-peso is only $16. Even a 500-peso is worth only $40, so these seem really low to be paper and wearing our quickly. Of course I don't know how they circulate down in Mexico, since the last time I was there they had no polimer notes, and the smallest bill was 2,000 pesos with a value of about 65-cents!
