Lincolns-Complete except for 3, including modern proofs.

    Nickels:

    Liberty-about 80% complete

    Buffalo-complete

    Jefferson-Complete including modern proofs

    Dimes:

    Roosevelts-complete including modern proofs

    Quarters:

    Washington-complete

    Halves:

    Kennedy-complete

    Dollars:

    Morgan-about 30% complete

  2. I had a connection at a local bank in Jersey City about 10 years ago, and I just kept going in and asking her for $200 in halves and after about the 3rd time she just told me she'd save all the halves for me and I could just come once a month and pick them up. Lots of Franklins, 90% and 40% Kennedys on that one, the only thing she wouldn't give up was one walker that she got in that she gave to her son. Can't argue with that!

  3. The gas station down at the corner from my office has a sign on the counter that they take these notes, which I assume means that they will give me $10 in gas if I give them one. I just wish they'd give me the same in gas for a silver round!

Alternative currencies like this will be novelties unless and until the Fed creates a hyperinflationary environment like 1923 Germany. Then people will be more than happy to trade in hard currency. In fact, evidence suggests that even mild bouts of hyperinflation, or consistent long-term debasement of currency will prompt people to demand hard currency, similar to what is happening in Mexico today.
