  1. Those are very nice, it seems there are never any coin shows around here. I don't want to go to a Canadian show anyway, I would rather go to a US show. However the only place near me is Sumas Washington and I don't think they will have one anytime soon.

  3. I have a stamp collection, not actively collecting but I frequently look through the album because there are quite a few attractive stamps. The oldest one is a one cent 1911, 1930s, 40s, 50s and up. Lots of world stamps. Sets of birds of Canada, which are very nicely done. Sets of fur trader routes of Canada etc. They are all kind of neat.
  4. Possibly, just possibly in another life, again possibly! I may have been your mom.
  5. I was concerned about the amount of pennies I have laying around. Obviously I am doing just fine and am well within limits
  6. I guess I should reply to the posted subject Got into world coins quite awhile ago when I got some from work. However wasn't much interested. Now the thing that interests me is the different designs each country will select, it can leave an impression on those from other countries as to the cultural importances and beliefs of that country. A picture is worth a thousand words.
  7. Great notes. But wheres the crinkles? Aren't they all supposed to be crinkled?
  8. Welcome Gump, I am also really new to coin collecting and this is the perfect place for good honest opinions and lots of humor.
  9. I won't bother with the picture.
  10. "Holey moley" Tiff, I am cheap cheap cheap. Most I have paid is about 5.00. Would have been 33.00 but the deal fell through because of "postal problems". How can I find a spot on your gift list, maybe we are related way, way back. You know ancestors from perhaps cave days or........ Never mind.
  11. I think the coins I got at swap meet the other day are Hungarian, I thought they looked interesting so I bought them for 50 cents. 1967- 50 Filler 1963- 5 Filler 1961- 2 Forint
  12. I would rather have authentic coins and it is a concern when a newbie like me doesn't know enough about distinguishing features to know the difference between copy, fake and real. I like to think I would be able to tell from what I have seen and read but the reality is I could be fooled. (did I SAY THAT?)
  13. Great Stujoe I need any help I can get!
